“It should be legal to shoot these animals on sight”
It is illegal to own firearms in Chicago, if someone had defended this young man with a gun, THAT person would be well on his or her way to prison.
Wrong on two counts. Only handguns are illegal. When they are used in self defense or defense of another generally the cops/courts look the other way after confiscating the handgun. Still not fair but there is a smidge of realism among the police.
