I feel badly for Caster Semenya. I suspect that the tests will reveal that he/she has genetic characteristics of both sexes. I doubt that he/she suspected this before, and it is sad that what is a personal and sensitive matter for him/her is being played out in the press.
I’ve heard the story of David before. I can’t tell you how much it disgusts me. That he was injured during a pointless medical procedure but more so what his parents did to him. I can’t believe his father said “ok doc cut my sons b@llz off”. Thank goodness they didn’t go ahead with the full scale Doctor Frankenstein treatment that they tragically gave to many unfortunate boys born with malformed peni.
If it’s any scant consolation, most of the modern “scientific” dogma (egged on by gay advocates) goes the other way: sexual identity is supposedly fixed.

Apparently this is a hypercorrection on my part.
It happens, I understand, that other things besides X and Y chromosomes can sometimes come into play, bending the development of the person towards the inappropriate sex.

Maybe this crap wasn’t a large part of his pratice, but sometimes you just have to wonder how rediculous shams, and the people who believe this type of therapy actually work and continue to function these days...
I think you may be correct. I met a young woman who was raised as a boy and blossomed in puberty into a girl... many years ago. She had both genitals at birth and her parents decided to raise her as a Billy, but she turned into a Tracy.
I met her through friends who knew her, at a time when she had been beaten by a boyfriend who found out she was once ‘Billy’.
Horrible to deal with this. It does happen, one would pray that people could try to understand and be helpful rather than critical.
Boyfriend probably saw it as something "gay." While there is no excuse for violence, it would be wise for someone in her situation to tell a potential partner about it BEFORE anything romantic gets going. Then, if the partner would be weirded out there is minimal opportunity for repercussion.
I'm sort of furious at all of this pseudoscience from the left, from their psychobabble, to stem cells and climate change. It's all hypotheses and no data.

This article taught me one thing, if I ever have any masculine children, I will not have their generals circumsized. A horrible thing to do to a male baby, anyway.
This is a horrible story, lost in the details is the fact that David’s whole nightmare that resulted ultimately in suicide began with a botched operation that is commonly practiced but totally unnecessary and unjustified. Circumcision is a barbaric practice that would be eliminated in a sane world. Unfortunately the evidence grows daily that we are descending farther into the rabbit hole of insanity by the minute.
It infuriates me that they get paid for this rotgut crap...
Any mohel worth his payess knows it's a shanda to do it with a blowtorch.
On the plus side, there are going to be some really great social satires made about our times by the film industry of the 22nd century, after all this horse sh1t passes out of fashion. Think Monty Python meets Flash Gordon, as written and directed by Rush Limbaugh. Wish I could be there to see them.
I think we have come a long way toward understanding things like this since the 1970’s. Many viewed her as a “sex change” when in fact she was not.
