Oh my: Palin “Going Rogue” on November 17th

Via C4P, the draft was finished a few months early so they’re moving up the spring release date. I was going to make a joke about knowing what grassroots conservatives want to find under the tree this year, but come on. Waiting six weeks until Christmas? Some of you guys will be lined up outside the bookstore a week before it drops.

Pity poor Olbermann, forced to talk about Sarahcuda tonight instead of, say, the New York City terror plot. Again.

Harper publisher Jonathan Burnham says the former Alaska governor invested herself deeply and passionately in the project. He says the book contains fascinating detail.

The 400-page book is the first for Palin, who has been an object of fascination since Republican Sen. John McCain chose her as his running mate during his 2008 presidential bid. The book will be called “Going Rogue: An American Life.”

The track record of 3rd parties is suicide

Those who keep trying the same methods over and over with no success - yet each time expect a better result are what?

Pence, Bachmann, McCotter and Demint will all be better off leaving the OP and become members of a party that actually supports Conservatism.

Brilliant. Get all the good conservatives to leave the GOP 13 months before an election that could stop Pelosi and Reid in their tracks.

How about instead we try to get Democrats to leave their party?

You make it clear that you have no understanding of American party politics.

We have to get our people elected to the state and county party positions. That is where the power is, and without that you have nothing, regardless of what the party is. Building a third party would take 8-10 years at a minimum, and gobs of funding.

Better to take whatever we can, election by election, at the local party assembly level. That is where the rubber meets the road.

How about grasping the concept there are not two distinct parties! The biggest difference is their party names. One is socialist and the other is socialist light but they both have taken the country down the same path.

"She is going independent IMHO, I can feel it in my gut."

Then you're not paying attention. She is doing her best to build bridges within the party, not to wreck it.

One of the best military books I’ve ever read.

Agreed. I was especially tickled by the story about testing security at the boomer docks in a speedboat flying a Soviet flag.

You make it clear that you have no understanding of American party politics.

You;re correct if you exclude the fact under the Republicrat party the power of government has only grown over many decades at the expense of the Constitution and limited government.

We have to get our people elected to the state and county party positions.

I don't know how you define "our people" because there is a distinct difference between Conservatives and Republicans.

Building a third party would take 8-10 years at a minimum, and gobs of funding.

There won't be a third party given the fact we currently have only a one party system.

Better to take whatever we can, election by election, at the local party assembly level.

That same tired old strategy was tried in the last election and worked well for the Conservative cause.

Idiots to expect a different result. I almost used that as a tag line once.

She should make some money on this, especially with Christmas coming. I hope it really, really sells well.

Conservative Republicans who understand IslamOfascists declared war on America and support the war against them will never join up with the Paulites, and other third party loons who are against the war the same as the Marxist left.

This is why this thread is hijacked, Sarah Palin supports the war against the enemy who attacked America and other countries. Her son just returned from serving in Iraq.

The Third Party loons should join up with the democrats since you share the same foreign policy

Many of these same Third Party lemmings state on FR they would rather have Obama again than a Republican.

FR has turned into another LGF. Many hate Israel and trash it. Make excuses why the enemy is a war against America

Well, I’d agree that if she wants to run for President she can’t duck every interview. But this is simply selling a book, a bit of a different proposition.

She doesn’t need the need the pr as everyone already knows who she is and that she has a book coming out. With all due respect to Michelle, going on those shows probably exposed her to a broader audience or others who otherwise wouldn’t have heard of her or the book. So Sarah doesn’t need to go on for those reasons.

Also, many if not all of those networks/shows had not insulted her and her family on a personal level and exhibited nothing but utter disgust at everything she represents. Given that her appearance on said shows would probably end up helping the shows more than her, I wouldn’t be so eager to go on them. I don’t think they get on her because they think she’s weak. I think they do it because they have a visceral and cultural dislike of her and her family that goes way beyond any one interview or even any real political differences. Why they have that? I can’t fully explain.

If I was her I wouldn’t go on anything related to NBC. Not only are they totally in the tank for Obama, but they pay guys like Matthews and Olbermann millions of dollars while they’ve personally insulted her and her family every day. They put on SNL which went out of its way to demean her in an obvious attempt at political gain. They pay Brian Williams millions who goes on shows and cracks jokes at her expense. Conan O’Brien millions who has Bill Shatner come on and crack jokes at her expense, etc... Ironically, NBC and Conan will probably beg her to go on as that would probably be the only show in the next few years where Conan beats Letterman in the ratings.

Although, I do recall she had Matt Lauer over her house after the election and did an interview iwth him in June, so I guess she’s ok with him. Why? I have no clue.

ABC? Not as bad as NBC, but what does she gain by going on a show to be interviewed by professional Democratic operative and close, personal friend of Rahm Emanuel George Stehpanopolous? He’ll be breaking out the Strunk and White and pointing out every incorrect use of a semi-colon.

CNN? The same company that pays Bill Maher millions so he can go on TV and call her a whore, a slut, a snarling bitch, and say worse things about her children?

Besides, no one watches CNN or MSNBC anyway, so they wouldn’t really help in book sales. How many extra book will going on Larry King sell?

CBS? Enough said.

But the morning shows are generally pretty easy-going and Regis and Kelly aren’t exactly grand inquisitors so I guess they’d be ok.

That’s the thing, they need her more than she needs them at this point in relation to the book. I doubt going on Today or This Week or what have you will result in any appreciable increase in sales.

She’d do better in terms of sales if she went on Glenn Beck or O’Reilly and guest hosted Open Line Friday on the EIB network, live from the Northern Command in Anchorage, or went on Levin’s or Hannity’s radio show. She’ll probably be on Greta’s show.

Between the 60M who voted for her, the close to 1M on her faceboook page by the time the book comes out, the 3-4M who watch the FNC primetime shows and Beck, the 10-20M who listen to the various talk radio shows, there’s already a huge audience to generate great sales without having to depend on the establishment media to pump up sales.

I just don’t want to see her in this position where all these folks spend weeks studying up and dedicating themselves to ambushing her. There’s really no point to it. Where every host is going to spend the entire time asking about death panels and ethics complaints and russia and clothes and whatever else they can to totally attack her. I don’t recall Obama going on all these shows when his book came out where the host was just waiting to ambush him. He went on shows where he needed an extra cigarette and a warm shower afterwards.

Now, if she wants to run for President she’ll have to do on those shows eventually. But she’s not running for President now and I would do the best thing for the book. Do everything necessary to ensure the best possible sales for the book for the longest period of time and then after that is taken care of if you want to go on some tougher shows, fine.

And even if she does run for President and even if she wins, if I was her I would never do anything that would earn CBS even one cent of revenue. I would never give one interview to them for my entire term or 2 terms. I wouldn’t allow anyone in my administration to give them any interviews. And I would basically just ignore them.

Sarah Palin will finally have some financial stability after all the WH connected nutballs filing expensive ethics charges

She will be popular abroad and gain experience, stature, and influence

Esp. as Hussy Junior continually proves himself to be an greedy ignorant egotistical failure

He is having phone surveys calling now - and mailed surveys - got one today - addressed to me!

I will not even open it

I’d go farther.

I wouldn’t give anyone associated with GE or CBS credentials to the White House press corps. ABC would be on serious probation—although Tapper seems to be a decent reporter. CNN would need to do some serious groveling.

Let the NBC nets and CBS do lame stand-ups from outside the building, showing footage they’ve had to borrow from other networks.

When they complain, just shrug and say “you guys started it.”

Things change, the times change and political parties change.

I bailed on the Republican party when they ran Dole. I should have left earlier, but I could still hear Reagan's quotes in my head and was still grateful to him. None the less, as an independent I still vote republican, even though my hearts not in it. I find it harder and harder to continue to vote for the lesser evil, for a party that's an empty shell of what was once the party of Reagan. This last election was the worst, with the only good part being Sarah Palin.

I've heard Rush talking about the curse of the third party since Perot, but Perot came across as a lunatic, a hand grenade with a bad haircut. And we'd already had 12 years of Republicans who were running against a fresh face: smooth talking Bill Clinton. I think Clinton would have won regardless.

And now? Now there is a very large percentage of Americans who don't affiliate with either major party or any party. We are hungry for someone who is saying what we are thinking and saying amongst ourselves. We long for another cross over candidate like Reagan as we are disgusted with all the offerings from the demonrats and the rinos. Those two parties have killed themselves and they deserve to die. People mostly vote for one because they are afraid of the other. They vote against, not for.

If Sarah Palin continues as she is, obama continues as he is and the republicans continue to do nothing to stop the demonrats, Sarah Palin will have an extremely good chance to become the next President regardless of party.

Yes, I hope she makes a lot on speaking fees. She will have to do a lot of promotion of her book and that will take some of her time up.

I heard that some US people walked out on her speech in China! They wouldn’t release the names the last I read. Others called her speech brilliant!

I have an envelope with 2009 OBAMA AGENDA SURVEY at the top of it. It’s from the Republican National Committee - a questionnaire. I’ll open it tomorrow.

You brought up Mitt, a non issue.
I support Sarah Palin, someone who can compete against Obama and win.

Also interesting how the third party folks can’t respond, only by mentioning a person not in the conversation and who will not be an issue as a front runner.

Third parties get one digit% of the vote.
The botom line, this gives Obama and the democrats a victory.

Delusional people keep doing the same thing over and over
thinking you will get a different result.
So Delusional or outright Obama supporters
