A plane was stopped from taking off from Los Angeles International Airport, and two men on board were taken into custody, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. LAPD Lt. John Romero said the men, who appeared to be of Middle Eastern descent, were acting suspiciously. A law enforcement source said at least one of the men ran into a restroom on the plane and appeared to hide while the New York-bound jet was taxiing on the runway, according to the source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the case was ongoing. The flight crew confronted the two men and made the decision to stop the plane before it took off, the source said. The men were taken into custody by heavily armed law enforcement officials. The plane has been taken to a remote area of the airport to be searched by a bomb squad, sources said. The LAPD's anti-terrorism unit and the FBI are on the case, but the source said it's too early to tell whether terrorism played any role in the incident. FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller said that she was aware of only one person being detained for questioning after the person failed to comply with airline safety regulations and directions of the crew.

What! This is outrageous. This is profiling. Why, I’ll bet these guys had dark beards. I’m calling Madame Pelosi/sarc
” Im calling Madame Pelosi/ “
That’s profiling!!
Just because she lives in DC, and is horrendously ugly, and has the humility of a Mao - doesn’t mean she necessarily represents anybody.....
My MIL is flying into Tel Aviv tomorrow on Delta. My wife is a nervous wreck.

“Passenger thrown off flight after forcing LAX jet to taxi back”

SNIPPET: “Airport police, FBI agents and Transportation Security Administration officials took the man and his traveling companion into custody for questioning, according to Castles and FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller.
“There is currently no identifiable threat to the plane or the passengers,” Eimiller said. “The passenger is being interviewed in connection with the incident and is cooperative.”
TSA agents rescreened all passengers and their baggage before they were placed on the same plane and took off for New York about 12:15 p.m., said Robin Urbanski, a spokeswoman for United Airlines.
The man and his travelingcompanion were not allowed back on the plane because of his failure to comply with the flight crew’s instructions, Urbanski said.
“This is a lesson in ensuring passengers follow the instructions of the flight crew,” Castles said. “The reason they tell you to remain seated while the plane is moving is because the pilot could hit the brakes and the passenger could fall down or bump their heads. It’s a lot like being on a moving bus.””

“Two men on jet arrested at LAX”
Published: Sept. 28, 2009 at 4:16 PM
SNIPPET: “LOS ANGELES, Sept. 28 (UPI) — Two men aboard a jetliner were arrested at Los Angeles International Airport Monday, authorities say, apparently for suspicious behavior.
Los Angeles Police Department Lt. John Romero said the two men, who appeared to be of Middle Eastern descent, were taken into custody by security personnel, the Los Angeles Times reported.:
The “terror” was created by the overblown response, not by the guy running to the bathroom.
Terrorists have no use for commercial passenger planes that are still on the ground. If he was planning to hijack the plane, he’d have waited a few minutes until it was airborne, to start being disruptive.
You can bet our enemies realize there is now a Liberal Wimp in the Whitehouse
He be dare fren, you know.
My thought exactly.
No, he supports them. There will be no retribution as he is Muslim from Kenya and Indonesia.

I agree in part with your assessment. While suspicious behavior may indeed be noted prior to a hijacking, I don’t think that a jihadist bent on a mission would advertise his intentions so conspicuously. I do not believe, however, that the actions of these 2 was innocent.
These 2 men were either playing, setting up a lawsuit, or, on a more sinister note, attempting to diminish response...
