Ending some nine months of closed-door deliberations, Sens. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) and John Kerry (D-Mass.) will release global warming legislation Wednesday that they hope will be the vehicle for broader Senate negotiations and an eventual conference with the House.
The bill's authors said last week that they expect to start hearings early next month on the bill, with a markup in Boxer's Environment and Public Works Committee to follow soon thereafter. They also acknowledged that their legislation is just a "starting point" in a bid to win over moderate and conservative Democrats, as well as Republicans.
"I hope what we've done is constructive and well-received," Kerry, the chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, said Thursday. "I have no pretensions, and neither does Barbara, that this will be the final product. It is a starting point, a commitment, full-fledged, across party lines to do what we need to do to protect the planet for the next century."

Someone needs to let this Boxer out, before she leaves us with another mess to clean up.

As long as these clowns insist they can legislate the laws of physics, how about introducing a “gravity bill” which could easily have a more significant impact on transportation energy requirements?

...I would vote for a dead person before I voted for Boxer. She's as dumb as mud...and John Kerry combines the harsh rude partianship of Chuck Shumer, with the charm of Leona Helmsley and the arrogance of Jacques Chirac. I detest him.
Now all we need is to put these two in positions of influence and give them the power to make laws regarding fantasy environmental doomsday scenarious that will ruin our economy. ....Oh wait, mission accomplished.

Right, they will build a wall of wind turbines across the North and mid west, which will wipe out over half of the migratory birds that pass through those areas every spring and fall.
Not to mention millions of miles of transmission lines, that will clutter up the horizon. When real and extremely efficient Nuclear and Coal plants would produce 1000 times the power with less than half a percent of the land area that wind and solar will use. Not to mention the massive maintenance costs and gross inefficiency of wind and solar. Any Republican who thinks this is going to save anything, needs to be run out of office for life.

It's not about energy.
It's not about health care.
It's all about power & control and the elimination of individual freedom. Forever.

Bad day to do that. Steve McIntyre at climateaudit just debunked the AGW believers data. It appears they cherry picked the data that was used. Shock, I know! For those scientifically inclined (which is not me!)

Seems like we have definitely hit a tipping point, doesn't it. Each item makes it less likely we can reverse course as entitlements and entrenched programs are unlikely to be done away with, Medicare, OSHA, SS.
