There were a number of ways to secure a birth certificate in Hawaii in 1961. The primary one is the long form that identified the hospital and attending physician. But if the child was not born in a hospital the applicant could still make a declaration and secure an equivalent to the long form as a Certificate of Live Birth. In this case there might not be a hospital or attending physician. The legal requirements for this avenue to acquire a Hawaiian Certificate of Live Birth were "loose" at the time.
Taking a look at the long form would clarify whether Mr. Obama was born in a hospital in Hawaii or elsewhere in Hawaii. Of course the possibility exists that a close relative could have secured a Certificate of Live Birth for Obama even though he was born elsewhere. Many people just do not know. They would like to feel assured that all is well and in order in this case.
The real story is the unprecedented lack of openness by our President in connection with his kindergarten records, Punahou school records, Occidental College records, Columbia University records, Columbia thesis, Harvard Law School records, Harvard Law Review articles, scholarly articles from the University of Chicago, passport, medical records, files from his years as an Illinois state senator, his Illinois State Bar Association records, any baptism records and adoption records, not to mention his sources of funding.
Oddly, though congressional hearings were held to determine whether Sen. John McCain was constitutionally eligible to be president as a "natural born citizen," no controlling legal authority ever sought to verify Obama's claim to a Hawaiian birth, or to certify that he is a "natural born" citizen (being as Obama has admitted that his father was a British citizen).
John's not eligible either. He has a citizenship problem comparable to Obama's problem also.
Nobody cares? Well that may also turn out wrong.
Assuming Obama is ultimately kicked out over this issue, the legal status is that you have an eligible and duly elected and certified Vice President who is presently in a position to be acting President.
Up to a Joint Session of Congress to elect a President from among the other two top electoral college vote recipients. Problem with that is that only one other person got electoral college votes and that is John McCain and he is not eligible either.
Not altogether clear what happens next although I haven't looked specifically at the legal constitutional question.
There are thousands of American citizens who are legitimate bacause they were born of American parents on a military base somewhere in the world.
This is smoke and mirrors.
The problem with NObama is that he hasn’t produced a real long form birth certificate and he has spent close to 1.5 million $$$$$ trying to hide the information on that document. We already know that his Daddy was NOT an American citizen.
Spending over a $1 million to hide something only makes the public less comfortable with the issue.
They always call the evidence "overwhelming", but neglect to say that it's hidden in the Dear Reader's new clothes.

So the question is, if Hawaii was illegally assimilated in the US and/or if it secedes, is Obama a naturally born citizen ?

Daniel Akaka, D-Hawaii - defines a process in which the federal government, through the Department of the Interior, would recognize a native Hawaiian governing entity and could lead to the secession of that entity from the United States of America!

John McCain is not merely CONSIDERED to be a natural-born citizen, but as a result of a law passed in the 1930s, he *IS* a “natural-born citizen” for all legal purposes.

A poll about what American's "believed" about McCain??? WT heck? There was a congressional investigation, wasn't there? Along with there being no question whatsoever that McCain's parents, both of them, were indeed U.S. citizens.
Not so in Obama's case. His father was technically a British subject, and his mother was technically a "minor" under Hawaii law at the time of his birth, being merely 19 years old.
This is part of what they are hiding, even though they (the DNC) went after McCain with teeth bared, on the same subject.
They have not, for some inexplicable reason, done the same for Barack Obama.

Last I heard, McRINO isn’t the POTUS. Leahy and Hussein vetted McRINO in the Senate Resolution but I haven’t seen anywhere other than Nancy’s DNC switcher-roo that anyone bothered checking any document on Hussein.
McCain was technically NOT a natural born citizen. He was born in a hospital in the Panama Canal Zone, not on the base. There was a law enacted that made his birth circumstances fall within the definition of “natural born” effective the year after his birth. Congress decided to grandfather him in and declared that he is natural born.
I believe that there is some fugazy circumstance in the Obama story. I don’t know where he was born, nor do I care. He is not our first not natural born president. This country made it through the first one, and we’ll survive this president, too.
I think in order to fulfill the requirements of natural born citizen to be president of the united States you must be born to two American citizens at the time of your birth, meaning it doesn’t count if they later became citizens. This means that Bobby Jindal is not eligible to be president because, although he was born here, his parents were not citizens at the time of his birth. Obama’s father was a British subject, so if my understanding of the requirements is correct he is not eligible to be president because of dual nationality.
If this country is being governed by a corporation, rather than the Constitution, it doesn’t matter where he was born, or even if he is a citizen, because those rules don’t apply to corporate officers.
Let's see: (1) both parents were American citizens; (2) He was born on a US military base which is considered just as much American soil as if he had been born on the steps of the capitol building in Washington DC; (3) the democrats actually tried to challenge his status as natural born citizen before it became clear that Zero had a good chance at the nomination, and the attempt was quickly shot down.
I put this canard in the “Jesus was a community organizer” category. It will be abandoned soon enough.

McQueeg had his day in court and in the Congress to determine his eligibility. Obama may very well have been born in Hawaii but we want to see the proof as there is an element of doubt due to his background. All we want to see is the paperwork.
If Obama supported and believed in the Constitution he would have gladly showed the documentation. IMHO the way has acted he is thumbing his nose at the Constitution.
