How about this for an interesting scenario:

So the question is, if Hawaii was illegally assimilated in the US and/or if it secedes, is Obama a naturally born citizen ?

Native Hawaiian Sovereignty Issues Last updated: 09/27/2009 12:03 PM

The Akaka-Secession Bill - named after its key sponsor, U.S. Sen. Daniel Akaka, D-Hawaii - defines a process in which the federal government, through the Department of the Interior, would recognize a native Hawaiian governing entity and could lead to the secession of that entity from the United States of America!

The impact of this entity on private property in Hawaii is unknown and could have dramatic, unforeseen consequences.

For background click here. Read what those favoring secession say: Is Hawaii Really a State of the Union? and Statehood-A Second Glance and Noho Hewa: The Wrongful Occupation of Hawaii

from wiki

Liliʻuokalani gave up her throne to the Committee of Safety. The Queen's statement yielding authority, on January 17, 1893, also pleaded for justice:

I Liliʻuokalani, by the Grace of God and under the Constitution of the Hawaiian Kingdom, Queen, do hereby solemnly protest against any and all acts done against myself and the Constitutional Government of the Hawaiian Kingdom by certain persons claiming to have established a Provisional Government of and for this Kingdom.

That I yield to the superior force of the United States of America whose Minister Plenipotentiary, His Excellency John L. Stevens, has caused United States troops to be landed at Honolulu and declared that he would support the Provisional Government.

Now to avoid any collision of armed forces, and perhaps the loss of life, I do this under protest and impelled by said force yield my authority until such time as the Government of the United States shall, upon facts being presented to it, undo the action of its representatives and reinstate me in the authority which I claim as the Constitutional Sovereign of the Hawaiian Islands.

An immediate investigation into the events of the overthrow was commissioned by President Cleveland was conducted by former Congressman James Henderson Blount. The Blount Report was completed on July 17, 1893 and concluded that "United States diplomatic and military representatives had abused their authority and were responsible for the change in government.".[10]

The overthrow of the Kingdom of Hawaiʻi and the subsequent annexation of Hawaiʻi has recently been cited as the first major instance of American imperialism.[13]

In 1993, the US Congress passed Public Law 103-150 ("The Apology Bill") which corrects misinformation regarding the overthrow of the monarchy and apologizes on behalf of the United States for the "suppression of the inherent sovereignty of the Native Hawaiian people".

Footprints—name of attending nurses-exact time of birth-——
Release all his prep school and college records, also- let’s see if he was attending as a “Foreign Aid Student”...which is the most likely reason he won’t release that information, also.

There are Birthers who define natural-born citizen as one born on U.S. soil with two U.S. citizen parents. That would exclude McCain as well.”

American military bases around the world are considered American soil, as I understand it.

“Is it not true that McCains birth on a US Military base is what makes him natural born and had his mother gone into labor and delivered while she was OFF base, he would not be natural born?”

No, he was born a mile away in Colon Panama, several years before the coco solo hospital was born. His birth record from the canal zone clearly states colon as place of birth.

John McCain is not merely CONSIDERED to be a natural-born citizen, but as a result of a law passed in the 1930s, he *IS* a “natural-born citizen” for all legal purposes.

This is pretty simple to look up; the exercise is left to the student...

That $10? It gets you the birth certificate you just dismissed”

There is a difference between a Hawaiian Certificate Of Live Birth -C O L B — and a real long form borth certificate.
Look at your own birth certificate and compare it to the ‘document’ NObama put on his website in the summer of 2008.

I will bet you that they are far different.

A poll about what American's "believed" about McCain??? WT heck? There was a congressional investigation, wasn't there? Along with there being no question whatsoever that McCain's parents, both of them, were indeed U.S. citizens.

Not so in Obama's case. His father was technically a British subject, and his mother was technically a "minor" under Hawaii law at the time of his birth, being merely 19 years old.

This is part of what they are hiding, even though they (the DNC) went after McCain with teeth bared, on the same subject.

No they are not. If a German national happened to give birth on a U.S. base in Germany then the child does not have U.S. citizenship, natural-born or otherwise. Military bases are foreign territory and belong to the country they're located in. We're allowed there by treaty, not ownership. Children born on foreign military bases are natural-born citizen because their parents tend to be U.S. citizens. No other reason.

“American military bases around the world are considered American soil, as I understand it.”

Not sure on this, there have been opinions since I was in school decades ago that military bases don’t count for the most part. McCain wasn’t born on one or inside the canal zone anyway, so it doesn’t apply to him.

With regards to the presidency, I think what will happen next, is the election in 2012.

Obviously if he had won this would have only been an issue to the degree the media pushed it, but there are credible opinions that feel that ex post facto laws are illegal, and in fact being born in a foreign country (colon panama) would make one not natural born. It isn’t like the issue was ever clarified early on.

The Senate passed a resolution stating that John McCain was indeed a natural born citizen.

They have not, for some inexplicable reason, done the same for Barack Obama.

It's as simple as that.

Last I heard, McRINO isn’t the POTUS. Leahy and Hussein vetted McRINO in the Senate Resolution but I haven’t seen anywhere other than Nancy’s DNC switcher-roo that anyone bothered checking any document on Hussein.

McCain was technically NOT a natural born citizen. He was born in a hospital in the Panama Canal Zone, not on the base. There was a law enacted that made his birth circumstances fall within the definition of “natural born” effective the year after his birth. Congress decided to grandfather him in and declared that he is natural born.
I believe that there is some fugazy circumstance in the Obama story. I don’t know where he was born, nor do I care. He is not our first not natural born president. This country made it through the first one, and we’ll survive this president, too.
I think in order to fulfill the requirements of natural born citizen to be president of the united States you must be born to two American citizens at the time of your birth, meaning it doesn’t count if they later became citizens. This means that Bobby Jindal is not eligible to be president because, although he was born here, his parents were not citizens at the time of his birth. Obama’s father was a British subject, so if my understanding of the requirements is correct he is not eligible to be president because of dual nationality.
If this country is being governed by a corporation, rather than the Constitution, it doesn’t matter where he was born, or even if he is a citizen, because those rules don’t apply to corporate officers.

has anyone stopped to ask whether Sen. John McCain was born in the United States? McCain was actually born in Panama, but is considered a natural-born citizen, since he was born to an American military family stationed on a U.S. base.

Let's see: (1) both parents were American citizens; (2) He was born on a US military base which is considered just as much American soil as if he had been born on the steps of the capitol building in Washington DC; (3) the democrats actually tried to challenge his status as natural born citizen before it became clear that Zero had a good chance at the nomination, and the attempt was quickly shot down.

A US Military base IS US soil. The definition you cited would not exclude McCain.

That's a birth certificate.

There is a document that is called a certification of live birth and one called a birth certificate....two different documents with different levels of information.

That $10? It gets you the birth certificate you just dismissed. He already did that. And no, it hasn't ended any legal challenges.

Nope. Really. There is a different document called a Birth Certificate.
