I was actually inside my house. But I sonic booms from aircraft feel similar depending how close you are.

Upon reflection, the linebacker analogy was an exageration. A shockwave from a close sonic boom would be better. But the differece was that a shockwave seems to go BOoooommm, this felt like BOOM then silence.

I just remember saying “WHAT THE F^<K WAS THAT!” Then I rmembered that my mother was visiting.

I believe you on that,,, i live in a town where the military and DOE sometimes do test shots. With the right humidity, etc,,, you can be 6 or 7 miles away and get a good shock. They announce it on the news the day before for that very reason, so as not to alarm people.

There was lots of talk about two explosions, 2 seconds apart. Did you hear two booms?
