Partisan politics, bias, and strongly-held views are, and have always been, part of the American political landscape. But people like Schultz have not only gone over-the-top but down-the-gutter in public discourse. If MSNBC executives ever wonder why their ratings are in the tank they should watch people like Schultz, Maddow and Matthews for about 15 minutes each night. Then they might realize that the viewing public does not prefer character assassination, gossip, and innuendo to legitimate political discourse. But, then again, maybe they are of the same mindset.
