Off topic, but I get tired of this line. It's a lie, plain and simple. EQUAL pay for EQUAL WORK has been the law of the land for over 40 years. It is a violation of federal law to do otherwise. What they really want is equal pay for what they deem as "similar valued" work.
Of course, it could just be that they're plain stupid and have no idea that the law has been in place since most of them have been alive. But, that's the mindset you get when you only know how to parrot the party line and don't bother to do the actual academic research.
