Thanks for letting us know that. I sthe ban still current? Wonder what they do play?
I live in Warren but haven't been to the Lakeside mall in years. (I pretty much do all my shopping at Meijer / K-Mart or online.
It does raise awareness, which is very important to creating a climate of getting people willing to push back.
People have to made aware of what is going on so they can know that their freedoms are being restricted by those opposed to their political views but who still want to take their money.
It least people being aware that this is happening will get people to think more about where they are spending their money, and maybe even ask questions and complain.
Kiosk Czar?
They were probably threatened by thugs, and fear for their lives. In fact, a soft target??
Did this very same MALL throw out the Numerous Kiosks and “SPENCER GIFTS” that were sellin the highly offensive “ANTI-G.W. BUSH!” Garbage just up until last year? I dare say NO! This Small Businesse Owner might have good grounds to sue the Butt of the Mall Ownerand build a very nice store of his own with 66% of the Judgment!
I know for a fact there are a lot of people in missouri will buy from his website.
We had a mall near here. It burned down mysteriously, just a burned out hulk of a building no one is interested in rebuilding.
I did not know you lived in Johnson City....I pass through there all the time.
Is this another Simon Property?
Property Rights have limits.
this is where the unintended consequence of the Civil rights acts went awry
can’t discriminate to folks coming on your property
have to make it wheelchair accessible whether you want to or not
and so forth
not to mention freedom of assembly issues
Property rights aren’t what they once were
is Fuchs Israeli?
lots of Israelis have kiosks here and Fuchs is often German-Jewish?
we used to have a reformed rabbi here in Nashville surname Fuchs...
is this the mall on US 11?
List the stores in that mall when ya get time ........they have stores in malls all over the nation I bet....
I will vote with my dollars from here in TX !
Starve the beast !
You are right, we can debate the unintended part. Because Civil Rights trump individual rights, I feel Civil Rights are unconstitutional, and even thou they obscure our individual rights, our individual rights never the less exist by definition as being inalienable.
You can google The Mall at Johnson City .
For a boycott to be effective, the objects of the boycott need to know the reason why. Since I already do no shopping in the Mall, I can’t really begin a boycott.
I lived in nearby Bristol for a couple of years, and even though Johnson City is largely Conservative, there is a sizable liberal minority there, mostly transplanted gays who moved there during the AIDs epidemic to get treatment from East Tennessee State University, whose College of Medicine was one of the big eastern AIDs research centers in the mid-1990s.
ping
one and only one ping to an old Tennessee list I was give a long time ago
He told me this morning that he had already talked to two lawyers who were willing to take the case pro bono.
Goes without saying boycotts are worthless.....but we will tell each store and mall administration and we won’t spend money at their stores if they are in malls or not.
We also don’t shop at the malls........frickin day care center for punks parents can’t or won’t handle IMO.
My opinion.....
Stop by and see us next time you are in town. We’ll take you to the Mall. :)
Sad to say that Johnson City for many years was listed as one of the top 10 places for the people of alternative lifestyle according to the magazines that cater to them. It all had to do with our university and the library on campus.
