Dan Fuchs said business was just starting to pick up at his kiosk in the Mall at Johnson City.
Fuchs business, the Graphic Edge, printed slogans and pictures on items such as coffee cups, bumper stickers and T-shirts. He said more than half of his business came from the sale of anti-Obama merchandise. Bumper stickers with slogans such as SOS: Stop Obamas Socialism, Nobama, and Chicago got the party, but the country got the hangover were displayed around the small stand.
Now it appears Fuchs is out of business at the mall, but mall officials say this decision was not based upon political views.
Friday afternoon, Fuchs was handed a lease termination notice by mall officials and signed by Mall General Manager Tembra Aldridge. The letter states that the option to terminate the lease agreement is effective 11:59 p.m. today and that he must vacate the mall premises and remove his property before then.

Dan (L) and his manager Fallon. They are indeed vacating the kiosk today. He has a location in mind plus a website that should be up later today.

saving website. Best of luck to him! I hope you let him know about his FR popularity!
I did. In fact, we called it up.
The mall administration clearly will not be winning any public relations awards anytime soon. This area of the country is HEAVILY conservative Republican. Johnson City is a college town so it may have a few more liberals or hippies around.
Anyway, the mall adminstrator interviewed on the local tv news said they approached Fuchs and told him TO SELL MORE PRO-OBAMA MERCHANDISE or face eviction. They actually tried to blackmail him into selling stuff that he didn’t want to sell. Do it, or else.
I don’t dispute that the mall has to have some control over the products its vendors sell, but to try to force a vendor to sell a product he doesn’t want to sell is totally un American. It is fascism.
You guys rock and I’m proud to be associated with you. :)
Thanks for all the good work....will check the website this evening, when it’ll be functional.
It's a union tactic, for sure.
Shut Obama down.
Is there anything else going on with guy — i.e. is he paying his rent, etc, — or is the mall really targeting him for no reason at all (other than the obvious one)?
The mall manager did not mention any other problems.
Why, thank yew, m’aam.
“not based on political views”
yeah okay, sure. we are in a recession with mall stores begging for business and a store gets good sales and they stop it...
It’s the mall’s version of the Fairness Doctrine.

Idiots...they don’t understand the word FREEDOM. Shall we check to see who people voted for also - or perhaps whether they’re card carrying members of the Obama-communist party?
If there’s one stitch of pro-Obama stuff anywhere in the mall, those of you out there need to find it and just trumpet the inequity of it...really make the mall stick their little policy to all vendors and see how that sits..
The folks at Graphic Edge told me that when Bush was President they also had some of those protest T-shirts available. Not a word said to them. The tolerant left rears it’s ugly head once again.

That needs to be trumpted to the local media - HYPOCRITES.
See post 42. Sorry I missed you, but good on you for going. I'm going to do what I can to keep the thread alive. Mod kindly put it in a sidebar.
I have a dream that Rush would pick up on this and do a "Dan's T-Shirt Sale."
That would be awesome. Guess some local TV media are picking up on the story. If any place ought to be shut down, it’s Spencer’s, but I wouldn’t even advocate that. Let the folks know what’s in there then take their business elsewhere. I did look for some pro Obama or anti Bush stuff though. I would have been on the horn to WJHL so fast your head would have spun in circles.
Shut Obama down.

Right, we demand the (Washington) Mall management be thrown out IMMEDIATELY (if not sooner.)
Party like its 1773? Were you at my first birthday party?
