Rep. Aaron Schock's (R-Ill.) office in Illinois state capital of Springfield was one of the targets of a planned terrorist attack, his office said Friday.

Michael C. Finton, known as Talib Islam, was arrested Wednesday after trying to detonate a van he believed was stuffed with explosives near the Paul Findley Federal Building in Springfield. Finton had been collaborating on the attack with an undercover FBI agent and is being charged with attempting to murder federal officers or employees and trying to detonate a weapon of mass destruction, according to the Associated Press.

He is the youngest member of Congress and from what I’ve seen of him on television, I like him very much.

You think the liberals seen a rising star and sent their buddies after him? They are so extreme, I would not put it pass them.

Do these terrorists ever actually do their own work anymore, or are they all entrapped by the Feds.?

Maybe the Muslim had a problem with Aaron’s vote in favor of paying volunteers in Americore and those other “volunteer organizations?”

"or are they all entrapped by the Feds.?"

I wouldn't use the word "entrapped". To their credit, the FBI has done a good job of recruiting moles or CIs in the American Muslim communities. If they get a tip that someone is looking to blow something up and needs some explosives, it's hardly "entrapment" if the FBI supplies fake explosives to a person with such intent.

There's your problem. If you want to avoid the Feds, don't rename yourself 'Talib Islam' or 'Abdul Jihad' or whatever.

Try calling yourself 'Peter Christian' or 'Pope Benedict'. You'll be amazed at the results.

It is my opinion that the media is fomenting this threat to anyone who happens to disagree with their agenda.

Something tells me there’s a rat am smelling on this “gangbuster” 5 terrorists caught in one day, by this outstanding anti-terror nobama bunch.

Already heard the Big D one was a setup by FBI. No problem with undercover FBI, and no doubt the mooselimbs have inflitrated the USA with cells, but shazam 5 IN ONE DAY.

I seem to recall reading someplace that Peoria, Illinois is a hotbed of Muslim Jihadist activity

Apparently, you don't grasp the distinction between "entrapment" and infiltration.

We will never know if the NSA, the CIA and the FBi had not been prohibited by law from sharing information (by whatever means, including infiltration), whether 911 might have been prevented.

He's my rep and I voted for him and liked him until he voted for that ex post facto law, to confiscate bonuses given to those bakers who were "bailed out". The unconstitutional bill went nowhere after it passed the House.

He is generally a conservative, as a matter of fact, that one really stupid vote that I mentioned is the only bad one that I know about and I will most likely vote for him again. Everybody is entitled to one mistake.

If I wait for a candidate that agrees with me on every issue, I'd have to run for office myself.

I wouldn't get very many votes. (I'm not even sure I'd get my wife's)

I’m happy you like him. I just now read about him. Very impressive. He graduated from Bradley University with a four-year degree in Finance in only two years. He’s one amazing guy.
