A Suffolk Superior Court judge today denied a motion by state Republicans to delay Gov. Deval Patricks appointment of an interim senator by 90 days.
Judge Thomas Connolly this afternoon cleared the way for Paul G. Kirk Jr. to be sworn in as an interim U.S. senator today at 3:15 p.m. in Washington, D.C.

Shouldn't you post that question on Democratic Underground?

Massachusetts is nothing more than a petting zoo for the kennedy’s. It amuses them.
To: raccoonradio
call me crazy, but how do that change the rules after Kennedy croaked? Shouldn’t the replacement depend on the rules at the time of the event? This political environment is so grossly poisoned by the democrat party, and no one makes a stink of it.

The MA GOP need to file an injunction with the US Supreme Court! This is an ex-post facto law! PERIOD!
There was a law on the books that stated EXACTLY how a replacement was to be named. That law MUST be followed; otherwise, no one in MA should follow ANY laws!
If the crooks in your State Legislature can get away with this, you should move and let them rule themselves!
