Charles Manson follower Susan Atkins, who admitted killing actress Sharon Tate 40 years ago, has died. She was 61.
California Department of Corrections spokeswoman Terry Thornton said Atkins, who suffered from brain cancer, had been in hospice care in recent days. Thornton said Atkins died late Thursday night at a prison hospital in Chowchilla where she had been moved when she became ill.
Early this month, she lost her final bid for parole.

They won't come right out and say this though. They couch their beliefs in some pseudo moralistic language like “state sponsored violence” but the reality stays just the same. That being that some crimes committed are so heinous that the only punishment deserving of such is the ultimate sanction. Rest be assured though that Ms. Atkins can now spend the rest of eternity atoning for herself. I just wish it had been decades, and hundreds of thousands of tax dollars sooner.

I hope they slapped the cuffs on her before she was released to the funeral home.
Where she will ultimately end up, they don’t have parole.
No sympathy here.

Atkins died a lot more peacefully than than what she did to Sharon Tate.

Delayed justice.
Nope! While I don't know the details of her sentencing, every now and then you read of some perp sentenced to 1,500 years or so. I think they should be buried in the prison graveyard (unhallowed ground) and kept there the full 1,500 years before the remains are released to the family (even if someone can be found). If no one claims the remains, just drop'em off in the landfill.
