Glenn posed for that cover picture?

The eagerness of some conservatives like David Frum to throw Glenn Beck under the bus reminds me of Trotsky's observation about pacificists as people who don't want to get their moral principles wet. Although with conservatives it's more like they don't want to get their Armani suits wet. They don't want anyone associated with them to appear to be street fighters when we're in the middle of a street fight. It's the snob effect.Or more likely it's a conservative Stockholm Syndrome. Held hostage by a leftwing media, some conservatives think that by dissociating themselves from Rush Limbaugh under attack, or Sarah Palin, or Joe Wilson or innumerable others, they can get their enemies to like them. The spectacle is pathetic and disgusting and the hope fatuous.

I noticed that both Mark Liven and Joe Scarbourgh were attacking Glenn to no end the last couple of days.

What’s Mark’s beef? I notice he can be pretty particular...and he’s got some mega success under his belt, so perhaps he’s throwing around his weight/authority? But why - I’ve not listened to his critiques on Beck much - I do catch Mark on the radio now and again.

The only one who could destroy Glenn Beck is Glenn Beck himself which I think he might admit. He is a great radio and tv performer, but I wouldnt be surprised to see him flip out on tv one day like the anchorman in the movie Network.

Yeah, I love Mark, but he needs to lay off Glenn. We’re all on the same side, and our heroes shooting at our other heroes only helps Axelrod and company.

The eagerness of some conservatives like David Frum...Yeah, some conservative he is.

And even if it did work, Beck has factored it in and has gone to great lengths to make sure that he himself is not the message. So even if they got him they would win nothing. Beck has pointed his audience to the sources, facts and to their own reasoning and has encouraged them to continue no matter what happens with him.

You know, it's really time to stop worrying about the kiddies at Salon and elsewhere, they're on the ropes.
They're all out of moves...because...we're so polarized now, they're just preachin' to the choir.
Besides, after all the crop the dems have been into, they will be hard-pressed to top it with something on Glen or Rush.
Just do like eddie murphy and cover both ears and sing 'La-la-la-la-la-la, we're not listening, la-la-la-la". We really shouldn't even give them the satisfaction of posting it on FR.
Mom's advice was best, "Ignore them and they'll go away.".

RFK, Jr. called Beck a fascist, as in: “I missed my fascist bus; I have to work late, my boss is a real fascist; or, my fascist wife is making me mow the yard, so I’ll miss the game”; as Orwell put it, for socialists words that can be followed by “ism” now mean: “anything I find unpleasant or objectionable,” or as the Cheshire cat(?) said to Alice: `When I use a word, it means exactly what I intend it to mean.’
So Beck’s right: when they try to insult all they’re doing is saying, “My aching a**! “ and that’s your cue to steer them back on topic and resume flaying their skin.

Beck is single-handedly saving taxpayers potentially 8 billion dollars that was headed to ACORN ... so several wobbly advertisers pull their spots from his show. They should be thanking him for orchestrating a populist funding veto that the Republican minority could never hope to accomplish.

Witch-hunts are a leftist specialty -- identify your political enemy, freeze him, and isolate him by painting him as a racist, sexist, homophobe, Islamophobe, nutcase -- whatever will work to banish him from the society of decent human beings and silence him. This is what the left is now trying to do to Glenn Beck, with its usual arsenal of malicious distortion, misrepresentation and made up "facts." I actually think it goes deeper than this. The left is so unhinged that they are unable to finally implement their left-wing utopia that they have started to believe their own propaganda - they actually believe all this stuff they are making up about Beck, because it is pulled from their deranged and distorted perceptions of what makes up red state America. And when you start to believe your own propaganda, well, that is when you fall.

Yeah, I love Mark, but he needs to lay off Glenn. Were all on the same side, and our heroes shooting at our other heroes only helps Axelrod and company. I think Levin doesn't like Beck because he thinks Beck is like Savage, a performing dancing bear conservative. Jingoistic-ally sloganeering into the microphone but no real philosophical underpinnings. I do disagree with the great one on Beck, I think he is solid and effective with that 20-35 demographic. Its all well and good to wax poetic on Edmund Burke and Levin's bestseller is one of the best books out there but he can get petty and be a bit of a purist. Beck is a good guy, Savage on the other hand well he is as useless as nipples on a boar hog with his muddled BOR type populist drivel.
