Update: U.N. Security Council Unanimously Adopts Obama's Nuclear Arms Resolution

NY, New York (AHN) - Holding its fifth summit in six decades, the United Nations Security Council on Thursday unanimously adopted a resolution from President Barack Obama strengthening international cooperation on nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament, and committing to collaborate toward a global community "without nuclear weapons." It was the first time a U.S. president presided over a Security Council Summit.

Resolution 1887 seeks to make the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) universal by urging other nations to accede to the treaty as non-nuclear-weapon states, and by introducing provisions against withdrawal from the treaty.

The resolution also calls on nations to finalize agreements on safeguards and additional protocols with the International Atomic Energy Agency so the agency, which operates under the U.N., can more effectively conduct inspections and ensure that domestic nuclear materials are being used for peaceful purposes and not for weapons programs.

Despite being one of only five permanent members of the Security Council, the United States has never chaired a summit meeting of the body, and had been criticized, under the Bush administration, for its unilateralism.

Obama is pursuing a different approach with the international community, and on Wednesday had said in his first address before the U.N. General Assembly, "We've also re-engaged the United Nations. We have paid our bills... But this is just a beginning... This cannot solely be America's endeavor. Those who used to chastise America for acting alone in the world cannot now stand by and wait for America to solve the world's problems alone."

Presiding before the Security Council summit the next day, Obama again said Iran and North Korea should comply fully with U.N. resolutions.

"This is not about singling out individual nations -- it is about standing up for the rights of all nations who do live up to their responsibilities," Obama said. "We must demonstrate that international law is not an empty promise, and that treaties will be enforced."

He called on nations to unite the way Democrats and Republicans had in the United States worked together on non-proliferation and recognized "that no difference or division is worth destroying all that we have built."

Obama's nuclear strategy involves eliminating nuclear weapons, preventing more nations from acquiring weapons, and promoting peaceful uses of nuclear energy.

In pursuit of the first goal, he signed the framework of an agreement with Russia in July that further reduces nuclear stockpiles and replaces the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (START), which expires on Dec. 5.

For the second objective, the United States has taken a leading role in implementing the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and in strengthening the U.N. Security Council's authority in implementing nuclear weapons agreements.

The third aim of the strategy includes developing new global nuclear architecture that ensures extremists do not gain control of nuclear materials.

The Security Council in June had imposed tougher sanctions on North Korea in response to the communist nation's May 25 nuclear test. Resolution 1874, which also passed with a unanimous vote, had demanded that Pyongyang stop all nuclear and missile activity, and return unconditionally to the Six Party negotiations.

China, Japan, Russia, South Korea and the United States are part of negotiations, called Six Party talks, with North Korea about nuclear disarmament.

Iran has also received international condemnation for its nuclear proliferation program, which it says is for non-military purposes. It has received three sets of U.N. sanctions.

A group of six nations called the P5+1 are in talks with the Islamic nation about denuclearization. The group includes China, France, Germany, the Russian Federation, the United States and the United Kingdom.

Last week, Obama said his administration is dropping plans to construct a missile shield in the Czech Republic and Poland to protect the United States and NATO allies from potential attacks from Iran. He said "stronger, smarter, and swifter" missile defense system in Europe was needed because of "updated intelligence assessment of Iran's missile programs."

I get the feeling that barakhobama was the kind of little boy who would promise his mother to bring back a knapsack full of riches if she'd give him a dollar to go to the store to buy candy.

Unanimously... because they’re all happy to see a weakened United States.

So if he can’t get Iran to go along with it, what good is any of this?

Is he going to disarm the US while allowing Iran to get nukes?

Yeah, get rid of all American nukes. The corrupt states would all love that wouldn’t they?....for the US to unilaterally roll onto its belly and pass out the vaseline.

Non-Muslim nations in talks with Iran over nuclear weapons...that’s a non-starter, if ever I heard of one!

We all better start praying that this President’s election is null and void, otherwise he is going to destroy this nation.

In that vein, a researcher recently requested information from INA concerning Barry Soetoro (Barack Obama II), Lolo Soetoro (stepfather), and Stanley Ann Soetoro (mother). All information was denied except for Lolo’s. Barry Soetoro was identified as being Barack H. Obama II - one and the same!

To quote another online site:

“Also, I find it noteworthy that USCIS states, “… In this case, alien files contain sensitive, intimate details lifted from the lives of identifiable private individuals who have sought some benefit under the INA, but have not given up all vestiges of personal privacy in exchange for the privilege.””

“Since they clearly state, “in this case” sounds to me like they are speaking specifically about the request for info on Barack Obama aka Barry Soetoro – that’s what the FOIA request was all about. Now, we speculate, what benefit was it that the “alien” sought under the INA? Could it have been a visa for a foreign student to enter the U.S. for the purpose of attending college?”

“Forgive me, but I do have a suspicious mind when it comes to trying to pull the covers off a marxist usurper intent on destroying my country!”

NOTE - Barack Obama/Barry Soetoro is referred to above, by the INA, as an “alien”.

GOTCHA!!

Fortunately he can't simply disarm us without the consent of congress, yes I know he has a veto proof majority(as if he would veto their BS anyway)but they are going to have to answer to their constituents and most people in the US, dimwit and conservative alike, do not want to be disarmed.

Plus, most congress critters realize their a** will be blown to he** along with ours.

Meaningless babble from an irrelevant organization.

Why don’t we just promote Obama as UN Secretary General and save America?

The possibility exists within the framewok of UN Resolution 1887 which calls for more formal rules to be considered in 2014.

Maybe we can get some clues from his upcoming negotiations with Iran.

This will make about as much difference as any other UN resolution.

But that will not stop the whorehouse media from exuding bodily fluids all over themselves in their excitement.
