Please DO NOT misunderstand my reasons for producing these two videos. If folks want to gather together to let “them” know that “we,” like Howard Beal in “Network” are “…mad as hell and not going to take it any more…,” it’s STILL – for the time being anyway – a relatively free country so we can do that.

All I’m saying here is that, especially in tough economic times, there are more EFFICIENT and EFFECTIVE ways to expend our FINITE RESOURCES.

It’s not as much fun as sweating on the Mall but there IS a better – and less costly — way to scare hell out of “them” — and you won’t even have to leave home.

Dick, these are excellent videos? I recommend both to all Freepers.

As for the first of final two comments in the second video:

Regarding government schools:

The moment government schools were created in the mid 1800s to when the last states mandated them in the early 1900s, in that instant of state mandate, **THAT** is when Obama became inevitable!

Government schools must be **eliminated** because they **are** an object lesson in socialism. The moment the very first students in the mid 19th century and early 20th centuries stepped foot in their government school they learned that the government had the power to take money from their neighbor to pay for something that their parents wanted for free! It is short step from thinking education is a right to believing retirement, disability, medicine, transportation, food, clothing, housing, etc. are also “rights”.

It is my belief that FDR was elected and his New Deal approved precisely because 1 to 3 generations of voters had learned to be comfortable with socialism in their tuition-free socialist government schools! It's been downhill every since.

Government schools can NOT be reformed because they **are** socialist, and socialism can not be reformed!

If we are to save the next generation of children, we **MUST** have PRIVATE conservative schools that are tuition-free. And...We must work shut down every government school in this nation. Regardless of the curriculum **all** government schools teach children to be comfortable with taking money from their neighbor by government threat of force. While charity would fund private conservatives schools, the children would learn gratitude instead of entitlement, and would instead be given an object lesson in Christian generosity.

We must make the private conservative schools tuition-free because this is the competing price being offered to parents by the government. If we are to get students out of the government schools we have to match their price.

Again!
Government schools can NOT be reformed because they **are** socialist, and socialism can not be reformed!

Very interesting videos you've made (although I prefer them with the sound down). I'm going to have to pass them around.

I suspect that you're right about these marches largely being 'feel good' exercises for the protesters. But I can say that locally I've seen what a tea party organizer can do when thinking beyond stage one.

The local organizer here in Charlotte first made sure to get people involved with an e-mail list and interactive website. Using those, he kept people informed and engaged in local issues, having some small successes.

From there the organizer, Matthew Ridenhour, was asked to run for one of the four city council at-large seats, and just last week he had a pretty amazing victory in the GOP primary, coming in second only to a well-known incumbent, and well ahead of candidates who had spent more money, had bigger names, ran commercials, and had more signs around town. (I actually saw only one Ridenhour yard sign, while I saw dozens from most of the others.)

The 3rd and 4th qualifiers for November's ballot, Tariq Scott Bokhari and Jaye Rao, are also part of the tea party movement here. Of course, now begins the hard part - getting these people elected in an increasingly Democratic city. Any ideas are appreciated...

We have to march publicly BECAUSE liberal groups are telling lies about us. They can't tell those lies if cameras pan in on every day Americans - people like their neighbors.

This morning in my local paper was a story about a Trial Lawyers association ( a VERY LIBERAL GROUP)- up near Jacksonville Florida - mailing out racist material to fellow liberals WHILE PRETENDING TO BE CONSERVATIVES.

The O'Keefe's of the world are going to be exposing the race=baiters - but it takes time. IN the mean time, these marches are critical.
