KENILWORTH -- Biagio Sciscione has trouble walking and usually needs a cane or motorized wheelchair to get around.
But when four people tried stealing a safe from his home, the 88-year-old Kenilworth resident said an adrenaline rush propelled him to his feet and into a front-lawn brawl with the alleged thieves.
Its a fight he won.
"I ran right out there, I dropped my cane and I just went in action," Sciscione, a World War II veteran and retired butcher, said today.

Pretty Spunky Old Guy.
These old Vets should be respected.
God bless you, Sir!
What a great man! Being a Vet, this guy isn’t taking any crap, plus he probably brushed up on his skills by attending a few town hall meetings.
You literally took the words out of my mouth!
Should have used the cane in the beatdown.
Indeed, it’s criminal how poorly we treat our elderly.
Yep, If they catch these slime balls I pray they have to go before a retired Marine Judge.
Someone in the old guy’s family blabbed about the safe. Other possiblity is hired help such as cleaners and health assistance. Safe was in the closet and not displayed prominently. These robbers knew what they were looking for when they sent the girl into the house to distract them. Thieves usually take less than five minutes in a house, especially if the house is occupied at the time. Typical things they look for in a room is a jewelry box, wallets, purses, petty cash on table and etc. Key to operation is speed. Very rarely they wil take their time to search a room and risk detection in an occupied house. If they wanted to do that, they simply barged in armed. Get old, learn not to blab to neighbors.
Kenilworth, NJ (to say nothing of nearby Roselle Park) is filled with tough old Italian guys. Cross them at your own peril.
“Cross them at your own peril.”

That attitude would be welcome here in TX.
Unfortunately, their sons and grandsons are largely a bunch of soft mama’s boys and metrosexuals. Guys like this paisano and my late Nonno are a dying breed (LITERALLY).
Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both.

She has been awaken, is angry and has her talons drawn. A Warning to those who seek to harm her now.
