ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty is preparing to launch a national fundraising committee, another signal the Republican may be positioning himself for a possible 2012 presidential run.
The 'Freedom First' political action committee will be formalized in the next few weeks, Pawlenty adviser Alex Conant said Tuesday. He described it as a logical step for the governor, who has been giving speeches and campaigning for Republicans around the country.
While forming such committees is a typical step for politicians who aspire to higher office, Pawlenty downplayed any link between his new PAC and a 2012 presidential run.

Governor Milquetoast. No thanks
Pawlenty? (Yawn). Nope. Move on, people, there’s nothing to see here.
Sarah Palin? WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
NO THANKS!
All he needs is to choose Crist as his running mate ...
He’s no worse than the others... But that ain’t saying much.
Sorry, (no offense to Minnesotans), but no one from that quirky state (that has given us Ventura, Franken) merits any serious consideration to lead this nation (IMHO).
Ask people who live is Mass. about getting fined if they miss their health care payment. Socialized medicine and Romney is the only GOP contender that is a complete joke.
Governor of the same state that gave the world Governor Ventura.... and the Wellstone funereal.
Hell no to Pawlenty for Pres.
This is more of the same me-too socialist-lite crapola that is the root of the GOP's problems.
He’s the best out of the ones that we pretty much know are running.
Romney, Huckabee, etc. He gave a great speech the other night.

Agree ... And don’t bother with Crist either. Crist is just another Arlene Spector doofus.
The guys I see as “likelies” are are Huck, Mitt, Pawlenty, Perry and Paul.
The maybe’s include Palin and Newt and Barbour.
Of all those, I’d take Palin, perhaps. Maybe Barbour.
The only ones I’d have real excitement for are iffy to run: Hunter, DeMint, and Pence.
Demint/Pence 2012
Bolten-Sec of State
Palin-Sec of Energy
Tancredo-head of border security
Hunter-Director of Homeland Security
Isn’t this the wimp that certified Al Franken’s blatant theft of an election?
I’ll take a big, fat pass on you, Tim.
So Tim, if it's "positions" you're interested in, I suggest you read the Kama Sutra.
Personally, I'm interested in someone who says exactly what they believe: pundits, spinners and media whores be damned.

From the last story cited:
Pawlenty, by contrast, rejected the return to our conservative roots theme of others at this conference and said,GOP principles must be harmonized with outreach to the new demographics of America, the GOP is fifteen years behind in the use of technology and the Internet, the GOP needs more than a political comb-over, and voters dont want our Party led by a crank. Unsure of to whom Pawlenty was referring in that last comment, there were some gasps from the crowd.
