In my prayers.
But the air in the tissues looks worse than it is (it is fairly benign and does go away with time).
Yep, that is the least of my concerns. Because of the SubQ ephysema the sutures had to be cut and it changed the whole game plan. Mandating no movement plus sedation. The swelling has gone down drastically with minimal crepitus currently. He also suffered from another rare side effect from intubation/anesthesia called Post Obstruction Pulmonary Edema. Again this problem cleared itself but wreaked havoc/worry from many while waiting for a for sure diagnosis.
His lungs are pretty clear now and his smiles have returned.
To God alone be the glory!
thank the Lord his lungs have cleared.
You all will stay in my prayers
We are still in the hospital but on the mend. I am not thrilled with the response so far from the Administrator and department heads concerning an important issue but I have not heard their final word on the subject. Praying for repentance on the behalf of an irresponsible Resp. Tech. Other than this incident our son has been well cared for.
Our son finally got the permanent trach put in today. Lord willing we can get out of the hospital tomorrow. Our son will be going home on oxygen which is new for us but they have said this H1N1 flu can do a number on the lung tissue and in some cases leave permanent changes/damage. Hopefully he will get weaned off of that soon.
Looking back 4 weeks ago as we were away from home in Wash. DC for the National Tea Party and the FR Convention, God’s grace and mercy shines forth. Our older children along for the trip began to get sick which I thought was a cold (sneezing). We had 2 rooms so the sick ones stayed away from our fragile son and wore masks when in the car all together. Our fragile son hung did not get sick till our trip home and when we were able to get Tamiflu on board. Tough, life threatening circumstances occurred a few times over the past 2+ weeks. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit and our Father was our comfort and provider. Our son’s life is not expected to be a long life but we his family and many friends cherish what God has given us and taught us through him.
When the day comes that our Lord takes our son home we will be very sad because he brings us such joy. I can be aggravated at life’s circumstances and a look at him and/or his smile brings a smile immediately to my face and soul consistently. That perpetual great gift alone I have never received from anyone but my precious son and our Lord. The day my son goes home to the Lord we will also rejoice and celebrate how wonderful, majestic and perfect our God is and how He allowed us to behold a different perspective of His glory through the gift of our son.
Thank you all for sharing this journey with me and my family. And more than words alone can say I thank you each for your prayers and encouragement.
Soli Deo Gloria!
