TONI Collette has won the Emmy for her American TV series, United States of Tara.
She won the outstanding actress in a comedy Emmy, beating favourite Tina Fey for 30 Rock.
Sydney-born Collette is no stranger to big Hollywood awards nights after being nominated for an Oscar for her supporting performance in the 1999 thriller Sixth Sense and an Emmy in 2007 for the TV mini-series Tsunami: The Aftermath.
She came away from both empty-handed.

I loved her in The Sixth Sense.
That’s a remarkably nasty shot at Tina Fey.

You mean when I called her Scar(fey)ce? I did that as a parody. Yes, she has Republican parents, but I don’t think she’s a Republican by any stretch of the imagination.
Making fun of a woman's facial scar is despicable. What are you, in the fourth grade?
She feels honored to be so useful to her masters. Her only thought is "thank you, may I have another?"
Sheesh, you make such simple, beautiful things so complicated! /s
Me too. She was simply perfect in that film.
Well, SoldWood called her that, in response to her vicious “parody” of Sarah Palin.
>Well, SoldWood called her that, in response to her vicious parody of Sarah Palin.
Which is my reason, as well.
She was pretty mean spirited towards Palin (who arguably became her bread and butter this year—remember NBC is tanking).
So I for one forgive the OP’s joke. To wit: don’t want none? Don’t start none.
Which is my reason, as well.
You do sound like you're in the fourth grade...maybe "SoldWood" will also jump off the Empire State Building.
Fey's face was slashed by a stranger when she was 5 years old and it left a scar...a CHILDHOOD scar...and you're a classless jerk.
If you want to parody someone and you want to be funny you don't make fun of childhood trauma. That's pathetic!
What’s equally pathetic is the way Tina Fey made fun of Sarah Palin. Or, how about the way some in the media made fun of Sarah’s DS baby?
OK, let's talk about that.
Tina's parodies of Palin were brutal, leftist distortions and I hated them with a passion...and anyone making fun of a Downs Syndrome child should have his lights punched out.
So what?
I didn’t know about her injury. In fact, I didn’t know she actually had a scar. I was just mocking her name. I now know it was a lousey thing for me to do. I’m no classless jerk, I just didn’t know much.
They’re no different from mocking a scar from a childhood incident. They all should be off limits. I see that now.
Let's be honest: Tina Fey's impression of Sarah Palin was extremely effective because it was deadly accurate. She had Palin's intonation, mannerisms, and cutesy quips down pat. More than that, Sarah Palin did her a favor by dishing up regular servings of parody-bait quotes.
Or, how about the way some in the media made fun of Sarahs DS baby?
How is that relevant to a discussion of Tina Fey? Did she make fun of Ms. Palin's DS baby?
