In a stunning request, the Obama administration has made it clear to poll-challenged Gov. Paterson that the White House would prefer he not seek election to a full four-year term next year.
The Obama administration sent the message through White House political affairs director Patrick Gaspard, who met with the governor at his campaign headquarters for nearly two hours last Monday, according to a source with knowledge of the conversation.
"They expressed concern about his chances about being reelected and the likelihood his presence in the race made it more likely that Rudy Giuliani would enter the contest," the source said. "The preference is that he not run. That message was conveyed directly."
The bombshell meeting between Paterson and Gaspard occurred the same day President Obama was in New York City to deliver a Wall Street address - a speech Paterson was not invited to, according to several sources.

Obama to Patterson: Make way for Whitey!
Hmmmm, if Obama were a white Republican and did this to the legally blind and incompetent cheating NY Gov, how would the media portray this?
Btw, Obama is half white.
Anyways, this gets no traction because Dems can get away with this crap. The media will spin this in the best possible light to protect Buttcrack.
But we all knew that!
I guess we know who the next czar is going to be.
He meets all the loser qualities.
The halffrikken American is throwing a blind blackman under the bus? Who’da thunkit. What about the separations of powerbrokers? /sarcasm
That must have been the 50% white side of Obama asking Gov Patterson not to seek reelection.
Stand tall, Gov. Paterson. You don’t live on Barry’s plantation.
Like it is any of Obama’s business...
Obama hates blind black people.
From this website, mentions Gaspard...
And don't think it won't happen. President Obama yielded the floor at a February 2009 meeting to SEIU president Andy Stern for his thoughts on healthcare reform. In the White House, SEIU carries a lot of weight. After all, a former SEIU lobbyist is the Political Director. Additionally, according to Wade Rathke, White House Political Director Patrick Gaspard is also a former political operative of New York ACORN.
Oh well, looks like Hillary is on the way out.
problem is the dems will make it “worth” not running by giving him a nice parting prize.
I do believe that this is the first time in History that a sitting POTUS involved himself so dramatically in the internal politics of a state. If it happened in the past it happened in the state that the president had hailed from. But I can recall, and I go back to JFK, no event such as this. As a registered Dem I will vote in the primary for Patterson just to register a protest against the unwrranted involvement of the interloper fromparts unknown in the politics of my state. Campaigning for your party’s nominee is one thing. involving yourself in the selection process before the party’s voters have a voice is something the Party Secretary in the CPSU would do. Oh wait...
If President Bush tried to do just one of the crazy things that Odumbhead is doing, the Dems would have brought impeachment charges against him.
Did they send him a dead fish in the mail?
Obamy wants that ditz Caroline Kennedy in the Governor’s slot.
