AZ 2010: Ron Paul’s ‘Moneybomb’ Guru Working for Minuteman Chris Simcox
The Washington Independent ^ | 2009-09-15 | David Weigel

Posted on 09/19/2009 7:33:58 PM PDT by rabscuttle385

Chris Simcox, the co-founder of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps, is in D.C. this week — he marched in the “taxpayer march” on 9/12, and he was working radio row at the Federation for American Immigration Reform’s “Hold Their Feet to the Fire” lobbying event. And Simcox, who’s running in the 2010 Arizona Republican primary against Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), told me he expected to kick his campaign into higher gear with Ron Paul-style fundraising organized by Trevor Lyman, the activist who organized Paul’s “moneybombs” during the 2008 presidential campaign. Lyman confirmed the plans, though there are no dates yet for specific fundraisers.

“This is a different kind of campaign,” said Simcox. “I think I can tap into that $35 million base.”

I cannot stand Juan McCain. I am going to send him a letter asking for my 2008 donations to be returned. If not I will consider a legal claim to get my money returned.

My claim will be fraud in that Juan McShame engaged in a massive fraud by claiming he was a Republican.

What are Simcox’s chances in winning the 2010 GOP Primaries against Juan McCain?

If he can get the grassroot paleo/libertarian support that Paul had, pretty good. But he’ll be running against the establishment machine. He’s got my vote, which is totally useless since I live in PA. But hey, if cartoon characters can vote for Obama I should be able to vote for a Senator in ‘Zona right?

Who should us conservatives support in the 2010 AZ Primary: Chris Simcox or Jim Deakin? I’ve been researching them both to decide who to donate to. McCain has got to go. I did read one story about Simcox: that his teenage daughter accused him of sexual touching her or something. I don’t know if it is true or not. I want the truth darn it.

I also hope Simcox’s association with Ron Paul doesn’t mean he’s a 9/11 Truther.

Those “money bombs” weren’t so much a result of the organizer as much as it was a bunch of small-government conservatives and libertarians saying with their wallets that they were tired of being served up 1/2 wit liberals like Romney, McCain, and Giuliani. With that said, I would find it hilarious (and a great day in our Republic) if he succeeded in unseating McLame.

Don’t think we can afford a third senate race.

There is a three way split here and conservatives need to figure out which opponent of McCain to support.

It may be possible the GOP insiders have deliberately inserted the third candidate to enable a McCain primary win.

Who to support: Simcox or Deakin????????

We can’t allow the GOP insiders and McCain to divide opposition to John McCain and allow McCain to win next year.

McCain has the upper hand unless a single opponent is supported by everyone.

I also hope Simcox’s association with Ron Paul doesn’t mean he’s a 9/11 Truther.

#1 - Simcox is not associated with Dr. Paul in any way, shape or form.

#2 - Paul is not a Truther. Just because some idiots tried to exploit his campaign (which he denounced) and display Truther signs at NON-CAMPAIGN rallies of Paul does not make Paul a Truther.

Pay attention, y'all.

“This is a different kind of campaign,” said Simcox. “I think I can tap into that $35 million base.”
