All wee-weed up: protests on the right, hypocrisy on the left
National Review ^ | Sept 21, 2009 | Jay Nordlinger

DURING last year's presidential campaign, when it seemed likely that Barack Obama would win, conservatives would joke, "One thing's sure: After January 20, dissent will no longer be the highest form of patriotism." We had heard that a lot during the George W. Bush years: "Dissent is the highest form of patriotism." Many on the left thought they were quoting Thomas Jefferson; actually, the words apparently come from Howard Zinn, the contemporary leftist historian. And it's a dumb thing to say: Certainly, dissent can be a form of patriotism. But the highest? Where does that put what Sergeant York and Audie Murphy did? For that matter, where does that leave George Washington?

Obama did indeed win, and "dissent" was, indeed, out: at least in the eyes of left-leaning opinion-makers. Obama was an inspirational president, governing in hard times, and we were all to rally around him: get with the program. Besides, he was historic, because black, and we all owed him our support, right? Not only would dissent not be patriotic; it would, very possibly, be racist--than which there is no worse thing to be in America.

“I wonder if garofalo thought she was improving her looks with her choice of attire and the tattoos.”

Yeah, I think she did...sad, really. She was a smart and funny woman at one point. Cracked up.

And, I am supposed to believe that a person with the intelligence of a gnat has some insight into life in the USA today?

Why does this person keep getting press?

God Help Us!

I’m sure that if look them both up, you’ll see that her picture is used for both.

tea-bagging rednecks
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Why is it OK to call whites “teabagging rednecks”?

Isn't it plain to see? Garofalo is a racist.

I can’t believe I thought she was kind of cute when she was young. She sure not cute now, inside or out.
