Virginia gubernatorial candidate Creigh Deeds is incomprehensive when is comes to raising taxes. He says he will not raise taxes - general revenue taxes that is. He is forced to admit he may need to raise the gas tax to fund transportation...

Even if you don't live anywhere near Virginia (or New Jersey, where the other key gubernatorial race of 2009 is), there will be opportunities to help our Republican nominees, during the key 100-hour "GOTV period, before Election Day 2009. You can get free lodging and transportation, through various programs of the RNC and the CRNC.
If you are not going to be able to come over to the East Coast, to help out directly help out in this race, please help us get key information like this out, about this crucial election.

When a democrat says he has “no plans” to raise taxes, but will not promise not to, it’s a sure sign he will. The excuse will be that at the time of the campaign he was not planning to, but once he got into office, the budget deficit will require a tax increase.
Mr. Deeds has “no plans” to raise taxes.
I have no plans to vote for him.
We’re even.
I think this writer means “incomprehensible.”
