After a month without Lines -- on Friday or any other day -- Fixistas need their, um, Fix.
And, of course, we aim to please. So this week we are doing two Lines -- one today looking at the ten most influential Republican leaders in the party and then one tomorrow ranking the ten Senate races most likely to switch parties in 2010.
Republicans have seen something of a reversal of fortune since we last penned a Line looking at their relatively meager list of leaders.

10. John Cornyn
9. Sarah Palin
8. Mitch Daniels
7. Mike Huckabee
6. John Boehner/Mitch Mcconell
5. Michael Steele
4. Newt
3. Haley Barbour

Neat graphic.
Goes from decent to gag me. Their top 5 pretty much sucks, with the exception of Pawlenty. I am not quite ready to throw him into the complete suckage category. But he needs to decide where his base lies.
I think you got to look at Canter and I think ihis name is Steve King from Iowa, they seem to have the right ideas
The most influential Republican?
Once again, the MSM tries to pick the guy they think will lose to Obama in a walk.
Remember, conservatives, when thinking about Teh Mittens, it's best to remember this warning.....
Best,
Chris
Michelle Bachmann & Sarah Palin & Jim DeMint are the most influential CONSERVATIVE Republicans today. Most of the list is RINO or semi-RINO, being pushed once again by Washington DC beltway so-called experts. Whatever these experts suggest or recommend.....do the exact opposite and we will win back our country and defeat 0bozo’s socialist-fascist-commie band of thugs, including the usurper pig himself, 0bozo.
Strike about 2/3rds of that list AND THEN RE-RANK.
I see that the post is trying to pick GOP leaders again, with predictable results.
There goes the MSM, trying to nudge the GOP into “leaders” the MSM wants.

Real list using the same people;
8. Mitch Daniels
7. Mike Huckabee
6. Haley Barbour
5. Michael Steele
4. John Boehner

2. Tim Pawlenty

In a few years, it will really pain Chris Cinzilla to put Bob McDonnell on the top 10 list.
Yup.
Their list is worthless.
Next!
I am tired of having DEFENSIVE representation; instead of OFFENSIVE representation. The Republicans only react to the dems they do not have any ideas or alternative plans. They just go to parties and comment to the press!
Yes, this is the right thing. We must get involved locally. We must recruit successful business people of every ethnicity. We must recruit intelligent SAHM’s and coaches, and military leaders. And these new leaders must bring to Washington, their own local staff. Because THAT is who really runs the government, “staffers”, who go from one pol to another across political lines; as political mercenaries. These “staffers” are overwhelmingly liberal college students and recent graduates. Even cleaning out the candidates, it will be harder to cull out these “knowlegable” staffers. And one more thing...one thing we must do this election cycle--we must find a way for the American people to wrest contol of congressional salaries away from congress. The American people whould be voting on all salary increases; and have the option of cutting their salary. WE are the employers, we should set the payscale and benefit packages. This is the biggest way to take back control of our own representatives!
Good lordalmighty. Mitt as most influential? BWHAHAHAHAA!
AND
N O
M O R E
L A W Y E R S
IN
CONGRESS!!
Most of them dont know enough to come in out of the rain but they sure as hell know how to construct rules and regs for all the rest of us.
Tupper Saussy traced the word attorney back to the Sanskrit word torwa. And what does torwa mean?
TO TWIST!!!!
How about we elect some regular folks with common sense, limit their terms to 4 or 6 years and NO FAT, LIFETIME, FULL-SALARY PENSIONS.
BUT, HOUSTON, WE STILL HAVE A PROBLEM!
What is to be done about the HILL RATS? These are the allegedly professional staffers who are so named because after the election their current boss loses, they scurry like rats to a new member ANY MEMBER (his politics frequently dont matter) just to remain close to the power. Most are flaming liberals and, after the experienced staffer shows the new guy where the john is, because they have been up there for decades, far too many of these new members rely on them for how to vote and get along in the thoroughly corrupt system of you scratch my back, Ill scratch yours that has caused the mess in which we now find ourselves.
IT GETS WORSE!
Lets say the new guy needs an expert on tax policy. Well, son-of-a-gun, the professional staffer JUST HAPPENS to have a college chum who works at the IRS! Need an expert on education policy. Darned if that secretary he just hired doesnt just have an old teacher friend who works over at the Department of Education!
NOW YOU KNOW WHY THE MORE THINGS CHANGE, THE MORE THEY STAY THE SAME ESPECIALLY IN MALFUNCTION JUNCTION. Looks like we will also need TENURE LIMITS on the Hill Rats with stiff penalties for breaking the rules!
And Joe Wilson. At least he put into words what the rest of us were thinking.
