Years ago I used a word quite often .. imbeds .. to describe that DMV worker that just pissed you off because, after waiting 2 hours in line to re-new your license (or whatever), you were sent back because you didn't cross a T.

I got out of the habit of being that crazy/paranoid .... until around the mid 90's as my political awareness approached acute.

Lately I've used the word 'emboldened' to describe the insane acts of social elements that were kept in check by American fabric (here at home), and those acts committed away from home that occur because we have been neutered in the eyes of the world.

Acorn? ... emboldened imbeds.

Oh, you mean the infamous Sturmabteilung (SA) or sometimes known as brown shirts? You're right--once Hitler ascended to be Chancellor of Germany, the SA became a political embarrassment and Hitler had ordered the infamous Night of Long Knive massacre, which may have killed as many as 1,000 people.
