WASHINGTON - A resurgent conservative activist community that last month zeroed in on U.S. Sen. Arlen Specter has turned its ire to Democratic colleague Bob Casey over the freshman senator's vote against blocking federal funding for the community organizing group ACORN.
Casey's vote Monday put him at odds with all but six of his Senate colleagues, who approved an amendment to the Department of Housing and Urban Development's 2010 spending bill to bar federal money for the organization next year. The vote came after videos surfaced showing workers in multiple offices giving tax advice to a couple posing as a pimp and a prostitute.
Filmed by two conservative activists, the footage produced the latest backlash against the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, a regular target of conservatives.
Casey has largely avoided controversial stances during his two-plus years representing Pennsylvania in the Senate. His vote on the ACORN funding, though, has prompted a flood of angry constituent calls, fanned by continuous cable news coverage of the amateur videos.

Casey’s a pro-life Dem right? I assume he thinks he has to throw a bone to the moonbats every once in a while to make up for that terrible stain against his progressive character. Of course he may just be a moron.
Nope. He is ignoring 95% of the state and representing a few zip codes in Philly, consisting mostly on non-producers in the state (to put it nicely).
He is scum and has to go.....absolutely no excuse for voting to fund an organization so corrupt.
Pa. dumped a bright, decent man like Santorum and voted for the lunkhead Casey.
Gee you can’t blame him for buying enough votes from acorn to ensure his re-election. That is the Chicago Way
I agree with you. I do think that his pro-life status might lead him to take more extreme stands on other liberal bread and butter issues to “make up” for not being a card-carrying NARAL member.
FReep mail me if you want on/off the list.
Casey, one of the most clueless-appearing politicians ever to appear in front of a TV camera, should be given a full measure of publicity for supporting the importation of children for prostitution on the taxpayers’ dime. This should be in every ad his next GOP opponent runs.
Ditto.
