Amid a firestorm of criticism from both sides of the political divide, the community organizing group known as ACORN announced Wednesday that it would launch an independent review into "the indefensible action of a handful of our employees" who were secretly videotaped while giving advice to actors posing as a pimp and prostitute on how to buy a home and start a brothel.

This is good. Maybe Elliot Spitzer is free to add legal advise.
a handful here, and a handful HERE, and a handful over there....
Um, too late. You’ve been defunded. Too bad, so sad.
Good choice. That’ll teach ‘em.
Surprise: ACORN audit to be conducted by panel full of leftists and cronies
09-16-2009 Hot Air
I cant do better than Karls summary so Im going to steal it: A Soros hack, an SEIU thug, someone who pleaded to lying to the FBI, and a Kennedy. All thats missing are a few pimps and prostitutes for technical expertise. Hardest-hitting internal investigation evah:
In a press release, ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis says, that as a result of the indefensible action of a handful of our employees, the group will immediately stop accepting anyone into ACORN office for service programs, will conduct in-service training of staff, and begin an audit to review all of the systems and processes called into question by the videos, to be conducted by the groups Independent Advisory Council.
The Council includes many prominent Democrats, including the man who helped President Obama Transition Team, John Podesta, President and CEO of the Center for American Progress; former Maryland Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend; Andrew Stern, International President of the Service Employees International Union; and former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Henry Cisneros.
Presumably the point of this absurd whitewash-slash-audit is to create enough cover for Democrats to say they deserve a second chance, which is all the more reason why its important for Big Government to keep the clips coming. The more there are, the more systemic this is, the more pathetic the idea of some investigative panacea becomes.
Exit question for big media: Now that Jon Stewarts informed you that its okay to pursue this story, can we knock it off with the ACORN versus conservatives angle? .

“the indefensible action of a handful of our employees”
Wait a minute. Didn’t ACORN say originally that the tapes took the conversation out of context and that they were edited? This is a high risk position for ACORN, as those left twisting in the wind may decide there’s more to tell about ACORN!
This is good. Maybe Elliot Spitzer is free to add legal advise.
I think Spitzer be wonderin’ “where da hookers at?” ;-)
Henry Cisneros?!! You’ve got to be kidding:
“The Henry Cisneros payments controversy was a lengthy investigation begun in 1995 into allegations that Henry Cisneros, United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development during the Presidency of Bill Clinton, had lied to the FBI background check investigators about payments he had made to his former mistress.”

Just what every Congressional investigation needs ... for cover.
Independent Counsel's investigation (Henry Cisneros)
In March 1995, U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno secured the appointment of an Independent Counsel, David Barrett to investigate allegations that Cisneros had lied to FBI investigators during background checks prior to being named Secretary of HUD. He had been asked about payments that he had made to former mistress Linda Medlar, also known as Linda Jones. The affair had been 'public knowledge' for a number of years - during the 1992 presidential campaign, George H. W. Bush's Treasurer Catalina Vasquez Villalpando (R) publicly referred to Cisneros and candidate Clinton as "two skirt-chasers." Cisneros lied about the amount of money he had paid to Medlar. The investigation continued for three and a half years.
In December, 1997, Cisneros was indicted on 18 counts of conspiracy, giving false statements and obstruction of Justice. Medlar used some of the Cisneros hush money to purchase a house and entered into a bank fraud scheme with her sister and brother-in-law to conceal the source of the money. In January, 1998, Medlar pleaded guilty to 28 charges of bank fraud, conspiracy to commit bank fraud and obstruction of justice.
In September, 1999, Cisneros negotiated a plea agreement, under which he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of lying to the FBI, and was fined $10,000. He did not receive jail time or probation. He was pardoned by President Bill Clinton in January 2001.
You know.... I think Van Jones is between jobs right now. Maybe he could be on the “advisory board”.
What the HELL?
Was Sandy Burgler too busy?
It’s a shame Iceberg Slim is no longer with us, he’d bring much-needed perspective.
Is this a joke?
So, La Raza to investigate ACORN...Oooooh! ACORN must be shaking in their boots (from laughter.)
Why not have O.J. look into it, right after he finds the real killers!
Talk about a crooked, snake in the grass. His hold on San Antonio's raza and race politics was fantastic and the way he screwed around on his wife,
classic democrat.
I'm just loving it. He also has the same phobia of taxes and campaign finance laws that his party shares.
Suer seems that way lately, doesn't it?
And the hits keep on coming.
