Rush is on the radio announced that the vote is taking place now on the House Floor. He said that Issa added an amendment to de-fund ACORN. And he thinks it will pass hands down. Refer to: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2340961/posts?page=80

What about this, tho? Was this a different vote? I’m a little confused:

HR 3221 - Student Aid and Fiscal Responsibility Act of 2009 (To amend the Higher Education Act of 1965, and for other purposes.)
There are no amendments listed attributed to Rep. Issa.

Another terrible bill that no one should vote for. It is education lending bill that CBO reports will increase the deficit by $50 billion. The bill includes a little-known provision to give the Secretary of Education $500 million - to be provided to to any entity he deems appropriate - to develop and disseminate free and freely available online courses. Maybe Issa’s goal was to include a “poison pill” so the whole bill fails.
This article says the bill is a LIE

Also if you read the other thread that was posted, there is discussion about the real intent of this bill.
Thanks! :)
Must have been one big ass bus to throw ACORN under.
It was just announced on FOX news that the House has voted to de-fund Acorn via the student aid bill.
Ok, thanks. That is interesting.
It never ceases to amaze me how Congress does things within totally unrelated bills.
I thought it was HR3288 filed by Sen. Mike Johanns R-NE
Johanns #2355.
They are probably sneaking other things in...
