Too harsh a description of Obama foreign policy? With today's news of the abandonment of missile defense in Europe, it hardly seems so. Here's the former Czech prime minister, Mirek Topolanek: "This is not good news for the Czech state, for Czech freedom and independence. It puts us in a position wherein we are not firmly anchored in terms of partnership, security and alliance, and that's a certain threat."
Okay, even if we were to grant that the missile shield in Europe was negotiable what has the Obama administration gotten in return from Putin/Medvedev? Where is the announcement from Russia of support for strict sanctions against Iran? Have they simply given this away for nothing?

So, Poland the Czech Republic agree to go out on a limb for us, "offending" their Russian neighbors, and we screw them. I am also going to post Cliff May's excellent article explaining why this is a disaster in the making.

I was never in favor of impeachments, but I don't think we (and our allies) have the luxury to wait till 2012 (or even 2010).

Obama is unilaterally, removing any and all defenses the United states has in Place. Expect the unexpected.

"Coddle Your Enemies; Betray Your Friends" Actually, after thinking about it; the headline is correct.
He's coddling *your* (our) enemies and betraying *your* (our) friends.
From his perspective, though. He's coddling *his* friends and betraying *his* enemies.
It all makes sense now...

The Secret to the Suicidal Liberal Mind
What could be more idiotic and masochistic than to oppose missile defense? This opposition cannot be understood unless one dispenses with its rhetoric and rationales and realizes that these folks at their emotional core do not want their country defended.

According to a brief news item on Fox News this morning: Team Obama is spinning this as a great leap forward - with OB himself in the lead. It will be replaced by a bigger, better, smarter one sez he. Defence Secretary Gates, who proposed the the other three years ago agrees.
Given OB's track record so far, skepticism is in order.
The original system was to be land based, while the new plan calls for missiles to be launched from ships in the Mediterranean. More cost cutting?

Well, it will be kind of funny to watch Europe getting pushed around by Iran. That said, further cuts in military spending are hardly surprising. We need to give bums and drug addicts free healthcare after all and that ain’t cheap.

Confirmed by the Obama WH seventy years to the day after Poland was invaded by the Soviet Union. Why might the Obamacons have chosen this particular day for the announcement?
