Mainstream Media Misses ACORN, Other Anti-Obama Scoops — Bias or Incompetence?

Now that ACORN has lost its Census Bureau contract and Senate funding, grassroots conservatives are trying to decide what's more outrageous – the organization's wrongdoing, or the media's blatant reluctance to cover it?

"Truly shocking" is how The Los Angeles Times described the ACORN revelations on Tuesday.

Fox News viewers weren't shocked: They've known about the scandal since the leading cable news network broke it last Thursday. But the LA Times, the first major newspaper to offer an editorial on the latest ACORN scandal, is actually ahead of the curve compared to the rest of the mainstream media.

In fact, in the 24 hours after the controversial videos were first posted on BigGovernment.com, the collective mainstream response could be virtually summed up as follows: "Story? What story?!?"

Consider: According to Fox News' research, the ACORN coverage aired and posted by the various news outlets in the first day of coverage consisted of: Fox News, 19 stories; CNN, 3 stories; the New York Times, the Washington Post, and the Wall Street Journal – one story apiece.

The annual deficit run by the U.S. government is at least $1.7 trillion dollars.

The war in Afghanistan is in trouble.

We are spending $500 billion per year just to pay interest on the debt.

Unemployment is nearing 10% and growing.

Iran's theocracy is trying to get nuclear weapons.

Banks are failing at record rates.

And the media are failing miserably at doing their job. They are covering for a President who is in way over his head, a President they helped put in office. They should simply admit that they blew it, and start doing their job. Do you think we'll see any serious questioning of the President as he appears on all of their shows this weekend? Not.

IMO it’s definitely bias as the MSM can be competent IF THEY WANT TO BE.

>> Bias or Incompetence? <<

A strange synergy of both. The Libtard Media has relied so long on its “reliable sources” of liberal foundations’ press releases, that it incapable of news gathering raw information, or evaluating information on its own when it gets it.

Bias, Incompetence or CONTROL. I'm thinking the latter. If it was incompetence people would “screw up” in different ways, these people are making the SAME mistakes. Bias, that would scare them politically, so they'd have to try to “hide” it ... failing from time to time as O’Reilly does. So my guess it is control and they have to be getting “talking points” ... when you hear the audio collages people put together and they use the same words, it becomes pretty evident. (Follow the money and maybe the threat?)

Bias or Incompetence? How about treasonous? The Acorn scandal not only shows them encouraging fraud it is an example of how the financial meltdown occurred. Unqualified applicants were shown how to scam the system and take advantage of lack loan verification rules set up by Democrats. Business were forced to turn the other way because of unrealistic CRA goals forced upon them by Democrats.

Every one has some biases. The more competent ones can compensate for their biases. The incompetent ones can’t.

Big Media is trying hard to ignore the awful smell in the basement that has wafted upstairs interrupting the Obama deification ceremony. The dog (ACORN) made an awful mess, but the owner swears he doesn’t smell anything. Even though all the guests are holding their noses.

Bravo! Asking us to choose between bias and incompetence concerning our version of Pravda is like asking whether Jeffrey Dahmer was a killer or a cannibal.

This is not a "photoshop" spoof, but an actual book-cover. I WISH it were spoof. I wish the contents of this book were not true, but Goldberg is right on target.
