HEMPSTEAD, N.Y., Sept. 16 (UPI) -- A Hofstra University freshman was raped by five men, one of them a student, after meeting one of her attackers at a fraternity party, police said.
The 18-year-old student had just begun classes a few weeks ago at the university in Hempstead, Lt. John Allen of the Nassau County Police said.
Allen said Jesus Ortiz, 19, of New York allegedly snatched her cell phone after they danced, and she followed him to the Estabrook Hall dormitory early Sunday to get it back, Newsday reported.
“The cell phone was taken to lure her away from the crowd,” Allen said.
In the dorm, Stalin Felipe, 19, of New York and Ortiz allegedly tied her up in a stall in a men’s room and raped her. They allegedly were later joined in the assault by three other men, police said.
Police have arrested Ortiz, Felipe, Rondell Bedward, 21, of New York and Kevin Taveras, 20, of Brentwood, N.Y., and were seeking a fifth man. University officials said Bedward is a student at Hofstra, while the others are friends he had signed in with campus security.

“She admitted it was consenual and the district attorney is dismissing the charges and releasing the suspects,” a law enforcement source told the Post.”

Felipe, who heard the news while half asleep in his jail cell, said he didn't have any hard feelings toward his accuser. "I'm just happy to be free."
He declined to discuss what occurred Sunday morning.

Hofstra is in my back yard. As usual because of its sensationalism, this has been splattered all over the media.The irony is right next to Hofstra MS-13, Bloods and Crips are literally and figuratively raping their own every day and you don’t hear a word from the media.

How many other guys are in jail RIGHT NOW because some tramp wanted to “do a train” while drunk or stoned then accused the guys of rape when she sobered up? Bet it happens a lot.
Mostly likely she had second thoughts about pressing charges.

I agree. The guys involved are skanks too. (male skanks - manks?) If one of them were my son I’d have to hit him upside his head and ask what the h*ll was he thinking?? And I wouldn’t want my daughter dating one of them.
