It's been an amusing but nonetheless predictable experience watching the news coverage of this past Saturday's march on our nation's capital. That the leftist media establishment has chosen to minimize or ignore this event of monumental significance really shouldn't be surprising. After all, these protesters descended on Washington sans any central leadership or organizing figure. It was love of country and respect for the founding principles of our republic that drove these ordinary citizens from across the country to converge on the Washington Mall this day. They came to show their outrage at the policies being advanced by the Obama administration and the Democratic leadership in Congress.

This was a true grassroots uprising if ever there was one. I know. I was there. I witnessed it. It was exhilarating, wonderful, and a stunning rebuke to the most leftist group of legislators and executives ever to hold power in our nation's history. Some have argued that Obama rode a wave of mindless, irrational euphoria to victory last November under the campaign slogan "Yes We Can". We had come to deliver an entirely different message to our civil servants: NO, YOU WON'T.

The message is clear: We Ignore Conservatives as well as we ignore our Constitution.

Every word of this post is accurate. Every photo shows what all of us saw, who were fortinate enough to be there on Saturday. And the point is also accurate that the MSM feels compelled to lie about our demonstration.

Okay, if they won't come to us and photograph us, let us go to them and force them to cover us. Everywhere that there is a crowd shot that the MSM must show -- from partican political rallies, to sporting events, to the plaza outside the Today Show studios -- some of our people should be there, holding the Gadsden Flag.

Eventually even the most ignorant and biased member of the media will be forced to recognize that that Flag represents us. That we are here, there, and everywhere. But before the most aggressively ignorant members of the press get the message (Olberman and Dowd come to mind, not entirely at random), the public will get the message and enough will join us to defeat Nancy Pelosi and return the House of Representatives to adult hands, in 2010.

They are following the Hofstadter Paranoid Style theory to dismiss conservative dissent.
It's part of their talking points and strategy, that conservative opposition
to Obama is not legitimate. An ad hominem argument and fallacy.
Before this they were going after Rush as the bogeyman and then Glenn Beck.
It gets old after a while.

it wasn’t until I exited the Metro system at Federal Triangle that the true magnitude of the gathering became evident....Even the police along the route appeared to be stunned at the size of the crowd.

We exited at Capitol South and within a moment heard the tremendous sonic roar from a massive crowd. There's no question about it, the Capitol Police were unprepared for a crowd of this magnitude and were scrambling to deploy their officers. This event was a political earthquake, the reverberations of which are going to be felt for a long time to come.

Perhaps you should have carried trash can lids and axe handles. The noise would have woke them up!

Or maybe they would hve told every one on Tv it was just raining.

I was there and I agree! Great to have met you at the Sheraton in Arlington - it was next to impossible to find other FReepers in that crowd in DC!

In reality, the Capitol Police didn't really need much preparation for this crowd. Heck, I'd bet that there were a few hundred off-duty Policemen in the crowd already! I mean really, how much trouble was there? One near-scuffle with an ACORN drone selling the gadsden flag?

This crowd, like our tea party last April, was essentially self-policing. It was like a giant family picnic. The grounds were as clean when we left as they were when we got there. I don't think I saw more than 2 dozen cops the whole day Saturday.
