Obamacare update: Plan from Sen. Baucus includes hefty taxes on unions' gold-plated healthcare plans. Dem senators saying that's unacceptable. Lefties screaming that unions must get special treatment; i.e. no taxes on their healthcare. Looks like the Baucus plan is already near death.
Developing.

This patient is bleeding from severed appendiges and Baucus is applying ice to a black eye.
Still, Keep it up. Eventually they will use the nuclear option.

Baucus is free to screw America as he is not up for re-electino for ~ 5 years. Thanks MT. (Unless Baucus is so smart as to fill his plan with poison pills to not let it get passed)

Republican’s should back most of this plan just to stick it down Obama and the union’s throats.
If they keep crying for healthcare, then let’s make everyone of their constituents pay for healthcare!

Best result would be for them to try the nuclear option, with zero GOP support, and have it fizzle a few Rats short of 50% on both sides. With the Maine RINOs on our side the GOP part looks promising and that Maine weather vane is one of many signs of hope for a Rat stalemate.

Doesn’t this plan include fines of up to $3800 for families that aren’t insured? This has to be one of the most abusive lines of law ever written into a bill.

Lefties screaming that unions must get special treatment; i.e. no taxes on their healthcare. If unions are given special treatment, what would keep employees at every workplace from forming "unions" for the sole purpose of passing tax free healthcare benefits from the employer to the employees? Sure, it would be dangerous because having any union is one step closer to belonging to the AFL-CIO, but most people would be willing to accept a sham union in order to pass through a few thousand dollars of tax savings.
