(CBS) ACORN calls itself the nation's largest grassroots community organization, with more than 400,000 members.
It helps low-income Americans find affordable housing and it receives tens of millions in government funding. But, as CBS News correspondent Cynthia Bowers reports, that may be coming to an end, thanks to undercover videos that have sparked a huge scandal.
The videos reportedly recorded late July and early August appear to show ACORN employees in several big cities including Baltimore, Washington and New York, advising a couple posing as a pimp and prostitute.
The employees are heard telling the couple how to avoid paying taxes and how to qualify for a mortgage on a home the couple plan to use as a brothel.

I heard there’s many, many more videos to come; what’s been shown so far is just the tip of the iceberg.
I saw Katie too, but she looked more like an East German Women’s discus thrower.

Funny how NOTHING was "said" about ACORN coaching the "pimp" and "prostitute" that they should teach their 14 year old foreign girls to keep their mouths shut.
Don't look for any follow up or investigative journalism to get to the bottom of the corruption from the LSM.
However, when he went back for a personal appt. to talk about getting a house, there was not a lot of help offered. He tried two times, and there seemed to be little intrest in assisting him, and no one did any follow-up.
Guess he should have been a pimp, or a criminal, or another skin color, perhaps???? He is still in an apartment. The program, was funded by ACORN, of course!
Let me be gracious in saying thanks to CBS for jumping on the bus , just as it was being de-commissioned.
Biggovernment has played this very well. No one knows who are where will show up next. Since they are spreading out the tapes..my guess is that they have some more real zingers out there.
About the time that they were doing these tapes..I had tried to sign up as a member of Acorn just to see what would happen. Their site made it seem easy, but when you got to a point..it stopped and said that a face to face meeting was required. It appeared that they had changed the site to make it harder to get access to their regular email notices..strange for an outfit looking for contributions from the general public.
They need to be stung now by some black and hispanic conservatives..so that they really don’t know who is friend and foe.
The videos are a godsend, excellent timing.
But the pressure needs to be kept up - even beyond the videos. This organization’s founder’s intent is to bankrupt the system, their stated goal.
Their roots are rotten, trunk is rotten, branches are rotten.
I hope this is pushed until the money and legislation that fertilizes and waters it are gone.
ACORN didn’t just start in Chicago, thought the current form of it did. Here in Arkansas, we had an ACORN before the current national organization came about. The acronym meant something a bit different, but our group eventually melded with the Chicago bunch.
And we have known here that ACORN was a massively corrupt organization, engaged in racist activities, political harassment, vote fraud, racketeering, etc.
So these videos of “Misconduct” are really no surprise. ACORN really has not done much to hide their nefarious activities - all under the umbrella protection of the threat of being called a racist if you pointed a light on their crimes.
So after a week and a half, and within a few minutes of each other, the MSM finally gets the memo and (inaccurately) reports on ACORN’s assistance in setting up illegal underaged sex slave shops.
Who sent the memo?
I want to know:
WHO AT THE WHITEHOUSE SENT THE MEMO THAT IT WAS TIME FOR THE COVERUP?
