Laboratory Technician Murdered Yale Student, Police Believe

Police suspect a laboratory technician murdered Annie Le, a Yale University postgraduate student whose body was hidden inside the wall of a campus building, investigators have claimed.

By Tom Leonard in New York 15 Sep 2009

The technician, who reportedly worked in the same molecular biology laboratory building as Miss Le, had failed a polygraph test this week and had wounds on his chest suggesting a violent struggle, police sources told various news organisations.

The body of Miss Le, 24, was discovered on Sunday – the day on which she was supposed to be getting married – stuffed into a wall space used for wiring and pipes in the building's basement.

Earlier, the FBI found items of bloody clothing hidden above a ceiling tile in the same building on the Ivy League university's medical school campus in New Haven, Connecticut.

Officially, police have denied they have any firm suspect although they admit that, with the building only accessible to people with a security entry card, the murder was likely to have been committed by someone who worked there.

A police spokesman said they had nobody in custody.

So, why isn’t the fellow in custody, at least till they can check if there is a match between his blood and the blood found on the clothes and/or Ms. Le’s body?

Sounds like an attempted rape that went VERY badly.

My guess is that forensics will come through and they’ll be able to nail the bas****.

They’re probably sweating out a confession right now.

Surely if he bears defensive wounds, some of his hide is beneath her fingernails.

Perhaps he's free in hopes he'll do something very incriminating.

He’s “under surveillance”,which I hope means there’s a New Haven cop car with an awake policeman in it outside his apartment door 24/7.

More info on Ray Clark. He worked as a lab tech in the animal lab (i.e. cage cleaner.)

That looks like a Satanic symbol he’s wearing aroung his neck in the POST photo.

It amazes me as to how far our modern universities have came since the days of their founding fathers.

Yale college was founded in 1701. The new college, declared to be an institution where:
Youth may be instructed in the Arts and Sciences who through the blessing of Almighty God may be fitted for Public employment both at Church and Civil State.

Its purpose, as stated by the trustees on November 11, 1701, was:
To plant, and under ye divine blessing to propagate in this Wilderness, the blessed Reformed Protestant Religion, in ye purity of its Order, and Worship.

The requirements for the students included:
All scholars shall live religious, godly, and blamless lives according to the rules of God’s W, diligently reading the Holy Scriptures, the foundation of light and truth; and constantly attend upon all the duties of religion, both in public and secret.

The primary goal, as outlined by the founders, stated:

Every student shall consider the main end of his study, to wit to know God in Jesus Christ and answerably to lead a Godly, sober life.

Looks like a whistle. The Yale/Hartford interface area is quite dangerous.

I hope you’re right because Yale’s failure to rope off the lab/building as a possible crime scene is going to make it very easy for a defense attorney to get this guy off if there is no dna to tie the suspect to the victim. Think planted evidence, contaminated chain of evidence, blah, blah, blah,.....

Police did botch up when they didn’t bring the search dogs in right away.

I think I heard they did, but the dogs were distracted because of the number of experimental animals kept in the lab.

WRITTEN BY ME ON MONDAY, 9/14:

I’m going to go on a limb here and say he’s a Caucausian male from a well-to-do family living off his parents who couldn’t deal with the rejection from Ms. Le because he has never been rejected by anyone in his life... becuase he thinks he’s the most interesting man in the world.

Methinks he’s going to look a lot like the Craiglist killer guy....
