UPDATE: The resolution has been adopted by a vote on 240-179. See below for more detailed vote information. Original post: The House is preparing to vote this afternoon on a symbolic resolution to condemn Rep. Addision Joe Wilson [R, SC-2] for shouting You lie! at President Obama during his healthcare speech to a joint session of Congress last week. See video of the incident here.

Here are the 12 Democrats who voted against it: Rep. Michael Arcuri [D, NY-24] Rep. William Delahunt [D, MA-10] Rep. Gabrielle Giffords [D, AZ-8] Rep. Maurice Hinchey [D, NY-22] Rep. Dennis Kucinich [D, OH-10] Rep. Daniel Maffei [D, NY-25] Rep. Eric Massa [D, NY-29] Rep. James McDermott [D, WA-7] Rep. Gwen Moore [D, WI-4] Rep. Gene Taylor [D, MS-4] Rep. Harry Teague [D, NM-2]

Dana Rohrabacher voted with the democrats and Dennis Kucinich voted against them. Bizarro World!
We have wild and rampant fraud and criminal actions at ACORN and this is what the dumb#$$es in Congress focuses on? They are apparently complicit in these crimes!
Barney Franks....present? Now that’s a surprise.
I wonder whether these votes reflect constituent feedback?
Republicans that voted with the Democrats in favor the resolution:
Rep. Anh Cao [R, LA-2]
Rep. Jo Ann Emerson [R, MO-8]
Rep. Jeff Flake [R, AZ-6]
Rep. Bob Inglis [R, SC-4]
Rep. Walter Jones [R, NC-3]
Rep. Thomas Petri [R, WI-6]
Rep. Dana Rohrabacher [R, CA-46]
OK, there’s your republicans that need to go, along with John McCain, where was he, visiting the Grand Canyon?
Anybody so bound up in knitpicking politics, has got to go, including the 200 or so democrats!
Get your brooms, we need to clean them out!

Barney Franks....present? Now thats a surprise.
Bawney knows how vulnerable he is right now and he seems to be kinda laying low.
Now this is bizarre, I really don't understand this vote. May I've been absent from this district too long.
Barney had his own little experience with reprimand back in 1990.
Congress will spend weeks, months investigating the CIA operatives and Bush and Chaney. but they won’t bat an eye at the atrocities at ACORN and on the gov’t dime!
I’m very disappointed that a Rep. from LA doesn’t have any more sense than this. I tried to e-mail him, but unfortunately the only e-mail accepted on his site is from his constituents (which I’m not one of, thank God!) He won for Orleans Parish against Jefferson, so there’s not much to work with there.... Wish another Republican (with a bit more sense!) would run against him when he’s up for vote again (not sure when that is.) He needs to be taken to the woodshed for censuring one of our own. He’s a Freshman Rep., but that’s no excuse - so was Wilson and he’s done just fine, apparently! GO WILSON!!
dim heads will roll when we gain the majority back... and those that voted against this resolution know it.
LLS
Rep. Barney Frank sees things differently.
“I think it’s bad precedent to put us in charge of deciding whether people act like jerks,” he said. “I don’t have time to monitor everyone’s civility.”
Wilson needs to get up before the House and announce, “I consider it a badge of honor to be condemned by this Congress,” and then sit down.
Voting "yes" would hurt her, voting "no" is impossible, hence the "present" vote.
Here’s what I would have have said if I was Wilson:
“I apologize to the President and to the Speaker for my breach of decorum. I should have exercised better self-control. I find it amusing that my African-American colleagues across the aisle are spewing the most vitriolic anger over my admittedly unfortunate outburst. Apparently trying to make this a racial thing. I assure them and you and Maureen Dowd that it was not. It was a lying socialist thing. A Caucasian President would have received from me the same disrespect for making the same untruthful remarks. Make no mistake, what the President did was far worse than what I did. I didn’t get up in front of the entire country and lie my ass off. “
No, I won’t ever get elected to congress.
I’m surprised to see Flake and Rohrabacher on that list. Don’t know much about the others.
Neither would I. I was hoping someone would take out my former rep, Steve Latoilette, last year. Alas, no primary challenger stepped up.
He has turned into a RINO. He is pro amnesty, pro global warming, and now is appalled at a true conservative.
All the Reps are up every two years. Nov, 2010 is the next election.
