Can’t say I’m surprised. We now live in a world where brave, truthful and honest folks are crucified and liars, cheaters and thieves are elevated to the highest offices in the country.

I, for one, won’t die peacefully in a world such as this and I’ll bet most Freepers are of the same mind.

But it’s perfectly ok for Dems to boo and hiss at President Bush’s addresses to Congress. Double standard.

What, no discipline for Rahm Emanuel, running up and down rows waving his finger under the noses of Congresspersons, screaming and spitting saliva in his anger into their faces? Now there’s someone who should be censured for rudeness!!! And if Maureen Dowd can “investigate” and “discover” that Joe Wilson is a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, why can’t she “discover” where our President was born and who these thugs are with whom he associates?
To: tobyhill
Given the behavior of the DemonRAT corruption machine over the last decade or two, both in Congress and in front of the media microphones, their panties knotted in a bunch posturing over “decorum” makes me laugh. I intend to donate to Joe's campaign funds. If he stands on the floor and tells the Speaker to FU, I'll double my contribution.

That's ok... means nothing... but we will try and jail you dims in the House when we get back in power... might even hang a few if the jury agrees.

Yet the same House who will bring a resolution against Rep Joe Wilson for merely say two words, will not and never did bring a resolution against Charlie Rangel or Rep. William Jefferson, the Louisiana Democrat who had $90,000 in payoff cash in his freezer.

You people dont understand: There is a rule against calling the Kenyan a liar, but there is no rule against stealing from the American people by not paying taxes or by giving your family jobs and government contracts, or by stealing from Ssamoans by not including them in minimum wage laws.
Being censured by this Democrat pack of Jackals is a badge of honor.

I've been thinking about what Joe Wilson did quite a bit for the last week. I agree with what Joe did and why he did it. That doesn't mean that I haven't had plenty of thoughts of what this now means for all Presidential addresses in the future. If Joe's outburst had happened during a State of the Union Address, I would probably have a bit different feeling about it. During a State of the Union Address, the President's Office deserves the respect of all those in attendance to sit there politely and let the President have that event. Last week's address was not a State of the Union Address. It was a sales pitch to Congress and the public. If ever there was a time for Congress to interact with the President and challenge his rhetoric, I couldn't think of better place and time for it. If President feels it is so important to sell us on something, then it should be allowed to turn into an organized debate. Maybe America needs a new form of dialog with the President, but only if the President wants to appear before Congress in a fair and open debate on whatever the issue is. If a President feels so strongly about something, this would not only be his chance, but a great chance for the opposition to debate him on it. Like I said, I've been thinking about what happened.
