Baucus: Health negotiators coming together

WASHINGTON, Sept. 14 (UPI) -- U.S. Senate negotiators are finding common ground on a healthcare reform bill and a bipartisan compromise will soon be unveiled, a senior Democrat said Monday.

Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., told reporters in Washington Monday that the negotiators, known as the "Gang of Six," are coming together on a healthcare bill that will "have some significant bipartisan support," CNN reported.

"As senators on and off the committee, (including) Republicans, begin to know more about all of this, their comfort level is starting to come up a bit," Baucus said, adding that the group of three Democrats and three GOP members are realizing "there's much to agree on."

CNN said Baucus predicted the negotiators will unveil a bill this week, with the full Finance Committee set to debate it next week.

Baucus indicated that negotiators spent Monday morning discussing healthcare reform hot button topics such as medical malpractice, ensuring a denial of benefits to illegal immigrants and expanding federal support for Medicaid, the U.S. broadcaster said.

While citizens know it is expensive liberal socialist legislation
that will ruin the best health care system in the world,
along with robbing job opportunities by further raising taxes

Remember, just because these 6 jokers agree to something doesn’t mean it will pass.

I can’t believe these idiot Republicans! Did they not get the message with the march on Saturday! We don’t want a “bipartisan” compromise that gives the liberals 90% of what they want and the ability to get the other 10% down the road!

These Republicans are signing their own (political) death warrants if they sign on to this. This should be so easy-just say no and force the Dems to pass it on their own (if they have the guts) and they will own it!

Not at all. There will still be plenty of hard-core GOP supporters, no matter what they actually do, and they will continue to blame the "unfaithful" (eg, those interested by 3rd parties) for refusing to vote for more RINOs alongside them.

The GOP is going to cave. Its only a matter of time. McCain is a Soros-guy like Obama, they play in the same sandpits.

Thats why we have open primaries. So Soros-backed candidates can be nominated in the GOP.

So much for the TEA PARTYS.

You guys don't get it. The powers-that-be (PTB) will push through their socialist agenda and demonstrations will mean nothing to incumbents! Come 2010, few will be voted out of office. Everyone will vote their guy back into office because they bring the "goodies" home and all politics are local.

Be prepared to take it to the next level, or live in a Marxist totalitarian country.

You are NOT looking at the beginning of the end of socialism because of some hundreds of thousands waving signs (kudos to them for trying), you are looking at the end of the beginning of our headlong progression into socialism ending our way of life and standard of living.

MARK MY WORDS on this date. I hope you can make me eat them later.

Wow!

This must mean that we’re going to have tort reform!
And eliminate restrictions on catastrophic-level health insurance!
And allow interstate sales on policies!

“republicans” wouldn’t agree to something that isn’t market-based, would they?

“Remember, just because these 6 jokers agree to something doesn’t mean it will pass.”

Oh yes it will!

This is Bipartisanship ... can't you see it? And since it is, it will be touted as the “compromise option”, and the libs will have all the cover they need to vote for it with 3 traitorous repubs endorsing the scheme.

Plan on it being on yobama’s desk no later than a week before Thanksgiving ... you can quote me on that.

It’s possible that many liberals will reject the compromise because they want the public option or because they don’t want tort reform or whatever.

There are too many Democratic Senators who won’t vote for it.
