Even when they are in the minority, they act as though they are the majority. After all, by their reckoning, the majority of the people would really have voted for them if they were as smart as they are.
This was the behavior of the Bolsheviks, who, even while being a minority, had the effrontery to call themselves the Majority. That’s what Bolshevik means - Majority.
And they called their opposition, Menshevik, which means, Minority.
