House Democratic leaders will move ahead with a "resolution of disapproval" against Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) on Tuesday afternoon, following through on their threat to sanction the conservative lawmaker for heckling President Obama during his speech to Congress last week.
Democratic leaders will formally introduce the resolution Tuesday afternoon, according to House insiders, and the vast majority of Democrats - as well as some Republicans - are expected to vote for it.
No decision had been made at press time as to which Democrat would be offering the resolution.
A number of Democrats, led by Majority Whip James Clyburn (S.C.) and other black lawmakers, were outraged when Wilson yelled out You lie! during Obamas address, and they have pressed Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and other top Democrats to sanction Wilson.
Pelosi initially downplayed the Wilson episode as a distraction from thelarger issue of health care reform, but she has come around now to the position held by Clyburn and the other Democrats if Wilson didnt apologize on his own, on the House floor, then Democrats must take action.
Wilson issued an apology on Wednesday night following his outburst, and he called White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel to apologize personally, but he has refused to go to the floor and offer contrition for his comments. Obama said he accepted Wilsons apology.
Clyburn personally asked Wilson three times to offer a full apology to the House during a confrontation the two had on the floor the day after Obamas speech. Since that exchange, Clyburn has led the charge to punish Wilson.
Not addressing this issue sets a precedent for bad behavior, said a senior House Democratic aide following Mondays leadership meeting. Were not the British Parliament, for a reason.

Notice has been served to House Republicans.
Tomorrow we will know friend from foe.
2010 is around the corner. Let’s see how many Blue Dogs have the b-—s to back this bullbleep. Backlash will bite the bums in the behind.
Please tell me how real “democracy” is trumped, at any time, by “decorum”. If citizens, in or out of office, must deny their honest passion ON ANY ISSUE IN ANY VENUE, then those who have placed decorum ahead of respect for our very rational and honest passion will not respect our liberty either.
Until Obama is done with all of us and we have to eat “PEOPLE” food......

Don't mean diddley for Joe - but just another example of why the Rats have a jackass for a mascot
Is this about race? Nah, it never works in reverse does it?
What pubbies will turn on Wilson?
Perfectly stated!
Wilson and Republicans need to counter with resolutions condemning the words of Van Jones and the actions of ACORN.
Joe is my congressman, and the local news Monday night was showing protesters from MoveOn outside his office. They did say that the protesters were from the national organization. The protesters were on the sidewalk in front of Joe’s office, and there was a policeman in the parking lot behind them. It looked like there were maybe 20 protesters. There’s video at the link.

As a repeat offender, you have to say "sorry" twice! ;-P
Newly appointed Senator Lemiuex (Rino-Fla), in one of his first acts, called for a censure of Joe Wilson.
Talk about being petty. Wilson apologized to Obama, and his apology was accepted. He has publicly admitted he was wrong. Yet the Democrats have to push this the last mile in the misbegotten belief that it will make them look what? More civil? More in line with the rules? Less partaisan? They are delusional if they really think that’s the case.
