Another retread: a "Sister Souljah moment" by the One

Yep, first post on the thread and you nailed it exactly. This "leaked" comment was orchestrated by the Ubama handlers, and ABC was delighted to be their chump.

Dang. I was unfamiliar with the term, so had to look it up.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sister_Souljah_moment

During the 2008 United States presidential campaign, Democratic Party nominee Barack Obama experienced a number of events that were described as Sister Souljah moments. On April 29, in response to a series of provocative statements from his then-Pastor Jeremiah Wright, Obama gave a speech where he distanced himself from Wright and called some of Wright's statements "a bunch of rants that aren't grounded in truth."[5][6] South Carolina Congressman James Clyburn said of the speech, "This, I think, offers Barack Obama his Sister Souljah moment";[6] the speech was also described as "more than a Sister Souljah moment" by columnist Maureen Dowd.[7]

On July 8, former Special Counsel to Bill Clinton Lanny Davis called Obama's decision to vote for the FISA Amendments Act of 2008 a "Sister Souljah moment" that showed "that as president he would be more committed to the 'solutions' business than to yield to the pressure to prove his ideological purity to his party's base."[8]

On July 10, prior to a taping of Fox and Friends, civil-rights activist Jesse Jackson was unwittingly caught by an open microphone whispering to a fellow interviewee, saying that Barack Obama was talking down to black people; Washington post columnist Dan Balz called it Obama's Accidental Sister Souljah moment, saying Jackson's public image was of old-style Black politics.

Kanye is a jackass, but a President doesn’t comment or involve himself with items like this.
Obama isn’t presidential material and this is not American Idol.
Obama is too stupid to know better.
I can’t believe that this is the person with access to the nuclear football.

They pulled it because it was off the record? Bush43 never had the luxury of any off the record moments.

Do you know how the term originated?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sister_Souljah_moment

“Such an act of repudiation is designed to signal to centrist voters that the politician is not beholden to traditional, and sometimes unpopular, interest groups associated with the party, although such a repudiation runs the risk of alienating some of the politician’s allies and the party’s base voters.”

In Ubama’s case, he risks nothing. Where else would the permanent victim class go?

Personally, I think the President should be above criticizing the tacky behavior of celebrities. And calling someone a jackass is hardly what a statesman does. Obama has no idea how to be president.

That hits the nail right there. We may agree with Obama, but in the back of our mind we're sorry he stated the obvious so meanly in public. He'd have been better off to say nothing.

I want to know what is up with that etch-a-sketch he has for a head. Did he lose a bet do you suppose? Or was he passed out drunk and his friends played prank on him and widdled that into his head?
