Rush Limbaugh: "Beware, Folks: A Third Party Will Reelect Obama and the Democrats"
RushLimbaugh.com ^ | 14 Sep 09 | Rush Limbaugh

RUSH: And you enjoyed it for all the reasons that you've mentioned. But we've gotta be really, really careful here, Dana, about this left versus right government thing. You mentioned third party, and we've been through this with Perot.

CALLER: I know that. I know that. And I think Perot helped Clinton get in, I don't doubt that. I do believe there has to be a huge movement before people can vote that way.

RUSH: But a third party is not going to do anything other but ensure the reelection of Obama and every other Democrat running for office because even if you come up with a charismatic third-party presidential candidate, still isn't going to have anybody of any significance running in that party for seats in Congress of the US Senate unless this movement happened to become the majority movement in the country, and that's not what's happening. I respectfully disagree with you here. I understand the anger at the Republican Party. Hell, I've got it, too. I've had it for a long, long time. But don't make the mistake of thinking this is not a left versus right thing. This is a conservative ascendancy that's going on out there. You didn't show up and protest like this when the Republicans were in power.

While I would agree with you that Obama’s early political upbringing was Marxist, I would argue that “fascist” is a more correct term to describe how he is attempting to govern as President.

They are not all that different, as F.A. Hayek noted 50 years ago. See the third quote on my FR profile page, the two paragraph one by Hayek.

My brother supports Ron Paul. And he helped Obama into the WHite House by supporting him.

Lol. You can't honestly be that illogical.

“I think a 3rd party could win”

You would be wrong.

"Look who the GOP gave us in 2008. "

Yep! Demoncrud crossovers in the primaries!

IMHO, the first step has to be closing the primaries...Until this is done, ACORN (or one of it's hundreds of derivatives) crossovers will keep giving us the likes of Juanbies, Grahmnesties, Huckabees, Pawlenties, or Romneybots at all levels of elected office.

Those who have followed Rush for a couple of decades will remember that even he (who is rarely wrong) was totally wrong in 1995 in a discussion with Karen from Whitefish, Montana.

She posited that the class of 94 "Conservatives" and the GOP they ran would eventually turn out no better than the leftists when it came to big government and excessive spending. Rush took the position of "No way!"

Unfortunately Rush was wrong....Karen was correct....

Fortunately, in the past several years, Rush has come to the same conclusion.

Of course, the term "big government and excessive spending" has taken a quantum leap from the original measure of the description with the Marxist coup currently underway. Now the worst spendthrift GOP RINO is immeasurably better than the Marxists who now rule us.

If the 2010 elections do not thoroughly flush these commie scum, the ballot box will no longer have any possibility of correcting the tyrannical detour this country has now taken. Any hope of the return to freedom & liberty will require the ammo box instead of the ballot box.

“The problem here is that a large part of the electorate....ARE “Rinos” themselves”

Not really. Those sort are independents and politically stupid and fickle.

“which requires compromise, and if need be the election of a fair number of “RINO’s....”

No. Moderates (not liberals like Mark Kirk) are acceptable to me if it’s them or a socialist democrat are but they should never be supported in the primary.

Neither RINOs or third parties are productive to achieving conservative government.

“Signing up to get liberals elected is not a conservative strategy, trying to dampen the chances of the Democrat party suffering a body blow in 2010 is not a conservative strategy.”

Yet another person who doesn’t understand that most elected Republicans are liberals too. The GOP has to be cleansed or it’ll be more of the same frog boiling.

I agree and kinda of agree with Rush even as a non GOP fan. Reform the party from the inside-out. True conservatives should of had the DC protest on 9/12 during the bush years. The republicans need to get the message more so than the democrats.

Sounds like you work for the democrat party, signing up here to depress the conservative vote for 2010 is only helpful to liberals.

Sounds more like you, ansel12. You are working to keep conservatives on the reservation. Only by doing that, can the country be frog-boiled into socialist oblivion.

We’re waking up. We’re noticing now that it’s not a slow slide into bondage, but a fast train. We’re not going back to sleep again.

You can say whatever you want newby but voting against the republican party in 2010 is a democrat selling point, not a conservative one.

LOL. What makes you think I’m not voting R in 2010? I have conservatives to vote for, not despicable liberals like Kirk or McCain. I will never “hold my nose” again.

Vote the person, not the party! Pity that concept is well beyond the party camp followers willing to support whatever socialist the RNC promotes....

I thought one of the keys of conservatism is principal. Too bad many here put party before principal.

You guys want to impress people with your principals, work against democrats, not for them.

On the eve of the 2010 election when conservatives are fired up about showing up at the polls when the democrat turn out will be low, for you to be trying to dampen that turn out serves the left only.

Personally, I work against all big government, statist types. Unfortunately, it’s not only the democrats that can claim that title.

Half the GOP leadership ARE democrats! Why don’t you work against liberals, not for them? The GOP must be made to understand that they must earn our votes. Socialism with an R is no more acceptable than socialism with a D.

Personally newby, I think that you know exactly what you want and it doesn’t include fighting the democrats.

What I want is conservative government. What you want is whatever the Party tells you you want. The only power we have over these parties is the vote. Give that up, and the rest of the GOP will turn Dem. There will be nothing to stop them.

You signed up here to deflate the republican vote which inflates the democrat vote and you are doing that just as we start approaching the 2010 election year.

What you work for is a stronger democrat party.

I signed up here to debate politics and fight liberalism. Your goal appears to be to demand support for liberals.

“What you work for is a stronger democrat party.”

Sorry, that’d be McCain, et al.
