DENVER AND THE WEST

SNIPPET: “Zazi fasts, prays, adheres to the five pillars of Islam and worships at an Aurora mosque every Friday. There is no hint of anti-American zealotry, according to Jaji.

“He never said a bad word about the U.S.,” Jaji said. “He always talked business, how many customers he had a day.””

SNIPPET: “Jaji and his wife, Rabia Zazi, said Zazi loves to play and watch soccer when he finds time, but he usually doesn’t.

“He’s always working,” Rabia Zazi said.”

SNIPPET: “Jaji has five kids and his own shuttle-driving job makes it tough to pay his bills, but when he asked Zazi to chip in, his nephew refused. He didn’t know whether Zazi was sending money to his wife in Pakistan.

Zazi was rarely home. He got up and returned home in darkness. He didn’t get much sleep.”

SNIPPET: “Zazi managed to lose his FBI tail after he was warned about the federal attention, the sources said....”
