Good morning, Cindy...

I’m so glad you’re staying on top of this - you’re our superstar for this kind of investigation.. ;)

Another snippet from the f&F story —

‘Afghani native living in Denver (I think) visited Afghanistan, then, on his way back, visited several homes in NYC before returning to Denver. He was under surveillance the whole time.’

Note - no mention that he was taken into custody at any time, which strikes me as somewhat odd....

SNIPPETAmanulla Akvari was among those detailed and released. Naiz Khan (below) was grilled about a mysterious friend named ‘Najibullah.’”

SNIPPET: “Khan said Najibullah moved to a Western state six months ago, but showed up out of the blue Thursday.

“He [Najibullah] walked up behind me while I was walking to the mosque and tapped on my back. He needed a place to stay,” Khan said. “He stayed one night.”

Khan, who runs a coffee cart, said he’s known Najibullah for seven years and used to shoot pool with him.

He said the FBI agents also showed him photos of two men from his mosque, Masjid Hazrat-I-Abu Bakr in Flushing.:

SNIPPET: “The target of the FBI surveillance is an Afghani national who lives out West, but previously lived in New York, sources told the Daily News. An FBI spokesman refused to confirm if the man’s name is Najibullah.

“He had troubling connections,” one official said of the target’s link to Al Qaeda. “It was alarming what he was doing.”

Two law enforcement sources briefed on the investigation said the man has been in the U.S. for several years and one source described him as having “strong Al Qaeda connections.””
