Support for the health care reform plan proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats continues to grow following the president's speech to Congress last Wednesday night. It has now risen to the highest level yet measured, and, for the first time, shows a slight uptick in support among Republicans and voters not affiliated with either party.
Fifty-one percent (51%) of all voters nationwide now favor the plan while 46% are opposed. In June, as the public debate was just beginning, 50% favored the plan and 45% were opposed

IT’S A WEEKEND POLL! IT MEANS NOTHING!
They did it when they voted for Zero ...
Intresting that now one but Rass shows this. Even the ABC/Wash Post poll shows support is under 50%
What’s the “margin of error?” It appears to me that those opposed also “jumped” to its “highest total yet”.
I claim B.S.
I say most of those who are against it were in DC over the weekend.
Do they know what is in the plan?
I think there were a few people out of town this past weekend. I could barely hear my cell phone ring amid the rumble of protests against the collectivist government takeover.
She’s dead Jim, Clinton got an 11 point bounce with a hail Mary speech in 1993, it lasted less than a week. Went even further negative the following week.
The shuck and jive act is working for less and less everytime it’s run.
But what are they supporting? Obama doesn’t have a plan that has been made public. Are they supporting the House bill? The Senate Finance Committee proposal that is not yet public? I wonder what the result would have been had the question asked, “Do you support the establishment of socialized medicine in the United States?”
I use to wonder how the Germans could be such sheep for the Nazis. Now I realize I was wrong. Apparently there is a need in most humans for a “Dear Leader” type to tell them what to do and think.
Dead Rat Bounce!
Btttttt—All those people that didn’t show up on the Capital Mall are for Onadacare—didn’t ya hear?
btt
Exactly. When Rasmussen was last on Hannity, both of them agreed there’d be a bounce. They both thought it would not last. The next few days’ polls should show what is going to be the longer-term result.
I guess the question is whether the Rats in congress will jump fast enough to take public relations opportunity.
Sadly you are right. too many want a nanny state. They are too stupid to consider the consequences.
I am angry these idiots could impact me
B.S.
Obama/Biden 52.9% (365) McCain/Palin 45.6% (173)
