Don’t apologize...I was there also, and there was nowhere near a million.

250,000 is a reasonable estimate. Compare this rally to the Promise Keepers. They had the entire mall packed and overflow into the Washington Monument. There were not nearly as many people there Saturday.

Nonetheless, it was a huge turnout, far more than anyone expected! No need to ruin that with wild exaggerations about the attendance.

I, too, was there - born, raised and still living in New Orleans - am 60+ and I know crowds - well over a million - you have good common sense, its just your eyes that need improvement.

If you look at the pictures from above and compare it to this

Does it look like more than 250,000? Sure does to me.

The thing is, I would think it would be virtually impossible to tell from just where you were to see the actual crowd, only your particular place in the crowd. The reason there are so many differing numbers flying around, is those of us who kept vigil with you were seeing the overall crowds, the overall pictures and news feeds. This was more than a couple hundred thousand, though right where you were, that would be an accurate summation.

Don’t forget to add the millions who wish they were there, and the hundreds of thousands who attended local rallies. mine alone was about 3000. Thank you for being in that crowd on Sat. I cried like a baby when I started seeing the crowd amass, hearing they were turning away multitudes, and hearing the speakers on cspan! What a perfect way to remind ourselves of who we are, especially after the heartwrenching memorials the day before. What an amazing 24 hours. God bless you every one!

Dude! You are so not even close. In the time elapsed camera going up Pennsylvania Avenue, there are 300,000 people.

As the camera continues, at least another 300-400 thousand pass the camera.

The pictures of the Mall are every bit as dense as a 4th of July and that is on the order of 500,000.

This thing was way bigger and the only reason we can't get an accurate account is because there were no overflights of the area allowed, as per security SOP.
