STOCKHOLM, Sweden, Sept. 14 (UPI) -- Forty-three percent of young Swedes interviewed for a national study said they believe getting paid for sex is acceptable, authorities in Sweden said.
The study from the Swedish National Board for Youth Affairs also suggested an estimated 20,000 Swedes between the ages of 16 and 25 have sold sex, primarily through connections made on the Internet, The Local reported Monday.
Young people interested in selling sex often suffer serious emotional problems, board spokeswoman Inger Ashing said.
"There is a higher instance of problems with family relationships and many show other signs that they don't feel well," Ashing said. The study also suggested an estimated 35,000 young Swedes agreed within the last year to comply with Internet requests for sexually explicit images, Sveriges Radio reported Monday.
"I've received questions which asked, 'Can't you make a video or something' -- lots of really disgusting things," Alejandra, a ninth-grader living near Stockholm told Sveriges.

The economy in Sweden may still be one of the strongest, but the are culturally and morally bankrupt. In fact they are a shining example of the kind of society both liberals and libertarians would give us...a Godless society is a dead society.

Sweden's economic growth rate may be relatively high, but its per capita GDP has been declining steadily over decades, and the recent spurt is largely rebound from a deep recession throughout the 1990s.
The official 5.7% unemployment figure is meaningless; the real figure is between 15% and 20%, and the discrepancy is due to workfare schemes, early retirement funded through social security taxes, and long-term sick leave. Sickness benefits account for around 15% of all public spending.
In Sweden there are many disincentives to work and the creation of new jobs. Large manufacturing enterprise does very well out of the highly corporatist tax and regulatory regime, and Sweden is a world leader when it comes to the management of very large companies. Smaller firms and the self-employed, however, face enormous problems.
Some 10% of Sweden's population is foreign born, but the unemployment rate among immigrants is atrocious, and Sweden is failing miserably in integrating its minority communities. A prime example is Malmö, just across the Öresund bridge from the Danish capital Copenhagen. Social exclusion is a huge problem in Swedish cities, and it is destabilizing the suburban social environment. (In otherwords, they have huge Muhammadan problems approaching those of the UK)
Around 30% of all Swedish workers are employed by the state.
All employment growth in Sweden since the early 1960's is attributable to labor market entry of women, working in local public sector jobs that implement the Welfare State. Sweden has 'monetized' or 'nationalized' the family. Women are paid at public expense to provide household services for other families.
You know, it’s hard to tell what comes first, the chicken or the egg. Maybe some girl starts selling sex who comes from an ideal home but with parents who don’t want to limit their child’s exploration in sexuality. Then when they do get involved in this their mind becomes imbalanced, unfocused and easily manipulated.
Wait, come to think about it this is what liberals want young people to be like. Sweden is just ahead of the game.
This is interesting in that Sweden’s laws arrest the JOHN in the prostitution. This is believed to have a major impact on the level of prostitution.
Previously, the Swedes had tried to decriminalize/legalize prostitution. They felt that it still lead to the exploitation of women, which led them to their current stance.
